I understand shitcoins better than most. You'd be better off sticking your cash in a mattress. Unregulated virtual currency mined by Chinese slaves, subject to hackers and government intervention... sounds safe to me . Shitcoin market lost over 80% in a day from a hack. No thanks.

I hope we get an explanation. hundreds of good posts in those thread, with solid information, tracking bitcoins from when there were < $5 to now ($40), and the books that take them. Why don't they just remove the offending posts? Nuking the threads is ridiculous, there are far worse threads that keep getting bumped that have no real value to bettors. bitcoin is part of the industry now, deal with it.

I've been an occasional poster for many years and this place seems to have gone downhill. I get the feeling things are much more manipulated to the site operator's agenda than they used to be.

I cant believe this stuff is 40+ dollars right now, the market seemed to crash a few days ago and then rebounded within a matter of like 4 hours. I only have a small handful that I bought last year, but this is completely ridiculous. I suspect the black market will at the very least keep bitcoin steady, in terms of speculative investments, this is as good as it gets.

Can anyone give me a quick run down on how exactly you get bitcoins? Is the only way to purchase them? If so, isn't this a bad time to purchase them, as the going rate is like $50 per coin?

I downloaded the bitcoin wallet, and I'd love to get some coins over to btcsportsbet.com .. what's the best way to do this?

We can't really talk about that here. I had a great thread going before the mods pulled it. Still waiting to hear back form them. Go to the bitcointalk and search for elgreco gambling links. You'll find the info you need there.

But to answer your question, yes, the only way (for a consumer) to get bitcoins is to purchase them. As far as whether or not its a bad time... its just like any market. Good be a bad time, could be a great time. Who knows. Do some reading on the other forum and ping me there if you have any questions. I'll probably repost the pulled thread tomorrow whether or not I hear from the mods.

What's hilarious is that you have been lurking this whole time while we have been stuffing our pockets with more cash than most people on this forum have ever made in a lifetime of gambling.

Made 235k in btc I'm out of it now but I got audited twice because of tradehill and dwolla but came out clean. I'm now heavily involved in litecoin , cleaning up at it as well.
