    This would be terrible.

No one wanted to play with Kobe as a player, no reason to believe things would be different as a GM.

What's next? Are they going to make James Worthy VP of operations? Kareem the head of the scouting department? Michael Cooper the head cheerleader?

Lakers just got rid of Lou Williams for Corey Brewer and a 1st round pick. Good move.

Get ready to fade the Lakers the rest of the year.. That's 19 points a game they are gonna really miss.. Lou was their go to player also in the crunch..http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/players/3971/

i don't think magic is the sharpest knife in the drawer - his business success notwithstanding.

but aren't the lakers fairly well set up for the future with russell and ingram.... i think i saw reference to their draft pick not being that well protected this year - although given how bad they are the pick doesn't need much protection.

but another high draft pick or two and get a mega-star to come to LA and this team is laughing.... mega-stars should be fairly easy to lure to LA. although i suppose salary cap could be a big problem. another reason why teams like NYK and LAL shouldn't give significant money deals to moderate talents - i actually think it's fine for franchises that aren't in desirable locations.

The Lakers will keep the pick if it's in the top three. Otherwise the 76ers get it. And if the Lakers end up keeping their pick, the 76ers will get it next year no matter what.

I heard this morning the Lakers were big on Ingram, they liked both Randle and Nance, and were kind of up in the air on Russell. I'm not sure if any of these guys are going to be superstars. I can't believe they were 10-10 at one point this season. They sure have fallen apart since.

They should have fired Mitch a long time ago. Jimmy is an alcoholic coke addict who likes dark black hookers. I know because Norm McDonald told me and why would he lie??? The Lakers have a nice young core but they had to clean house if they had any hope of players wanting to play for them. Assuming they keep their pick, they have 2 first rounders in a very deep draft and possibly more depending on what happens. This is a good step in the right direction. I am perplexed about them axing John Black though.

they just got a super solid guy on defense who can score a little. Hard to find guys like this in the NBA for a guy you can basically find anywhere and a first round pick u can use to work for something else.

Adrian Wojnarowski just reported on twitter that the Lakers have traded Ingram, Randle, and their number one pick for Paul George.

                                              Crazy.

Doubt the Lakers will be relevant for quite some time. They don't have any really good players. Couple guys with a little bit of promise but not much. Even if they bring in Paul George, they'd still need tons of help.

Won't matter anyways. Unless state loses to the cavs they will be intact and dominate the West. When they finish the Lakers will be good again. The Lakers won't be down forever.

Sixers doing the same with LeBron out East. Waiting out his prime.

Lakers better hit on this year's pick because next year they're probably giving up the first rounder to philly.
