    Vulnerable Casino...
When I was in Lake Tahoe a couple of weeks ago I identified three vulnerabilities, not including the sportsbook, the obvious one of course, but amongst the casinos. One occurred when I noticed that blackjack was paying 6-5. Now I know they took on billions in debt, I know there’s bankruptcy, and I know things are tight on the floor, but blackjack paying 6-5? C’mon.

Then I noticed it was single deck blackjack. The casinos developed the multi-deck shoe as a defensive tactic against sharp players at one or two decks. There became this “aura” of single or even deck blackjack being better, easier to beat, even though the public has no clue why. They think it is just easier, not accounting for really sharp play.

So the casino now gives the inexperienced a single deck, drawing the crowd, who thinks it’s easier, but only pays 6-5 blackjack…unprecedented.

I even saw some older tables with shoes paying 3-2 on blackjack with empty seats while the crowded table pays 6-5. I spoke to Boss at length, we laughed together.

But here’s the vulnerability…in the high stakes section of one of the casino’s in south shore Lake Tahoe you can find a single deck blackjack table paying 3-2 blackjack. Minimum bet was $100 per hand.

In my opinion, the casino is exposed here. I’m sure they know it so play smart if you know what I mean.

The casino has gone from rape to pillage. Even the pit bosses are laughing.

Now someone get on that table and ply the trade!

They were not reshuffling each hand. I couldn't believe it. At no time was there more than two people at the table at once. You can split aces with one hit per and I think you could split up to 8's.
Blackjack payed even money with insurance.

I noticed the 6-5 table that was full had to reshuffle almost each hand.

IF you can double down after split, DD with any hand, and if they stay on soft 17, I'd play at that table anytime.

I saw no double down restrictions, but they don't always print the split rule so I could see a restriction, but don't know. And of course, dealer STANDS on soft 17.

It's like they are baiting folks to give it a shot. It's positively throwback. I bet they're watching that table like a hawk.

Those single decks that pay 3-2, I'm betting they only play half the deck and burn 3 cards at the beginning.

Also they probably don't allow people to join before the deck ends.

When I've played a single deck lately they shuffle after every hand.

Start counting cards at that table and making large bet increases with a rich deck; see what happens.

Was just up there, the rules are fine and the table is still there. But you're right, you can only enter the table on the shuffle. It looks like they went pretty deep in the deck.

Whole time there I never saw more than one person sitting (it was the middle of the week, a very slow time).

I did not play, not even once. I spent time churning reward points at the craps table, breaking even in the book and shooting the shit with the bosses.

I didn't really feel prepared for blackjack, let alone $100/ per hand blackjack, I need to brush up a bit.

It would be worth it if you were properly rolled and even just did a simple A5 count. I would imagine you wouldn't be allowed to play there very many times though. If I had 5k laying around I would give this a shot.
