SBR World Poker Cup 2013 TEAMS ARE SET!

Congrats teams! Each of you has been messaged the password for next week's events.

Team Match Schedule (August 20th — August 23rd)

• Twelve tournaments per day running from 12:00PM-11:00PM ET. Your SBR Poker usernames have been altered to include your region at the end - your log-in ID remains the same.
• Four players per tournament (1 player from each region). It will be the responsibility of each team to decide which player will represent them per tourney. Players may compete in only one tournament per day. Players may not share the password with players that have not qualified under any circumstance - no points will be counted for that region.

Boeningpower, whose solid performance makes him the only other finalist who would have earned a spot on the US team...nicely done man!

theballsflop,whose staggering 4 cashes allow him to go head-to-head against people with over 10 times as many winnings

thecentaur, who, despite not playing for the last month after his seemingly baseless blackballing from SBR store, still has a high enough score to captain either Team Europe or Team World...well done sir!

and last but not least, SBR...despite cramming a painfully inadequate square peg into a round hole by making 80% of players compete for 25% of finalist spots over a grueling 4+ months, at least it gave us a bunch of dailies with good overlays, which allowed dozens of US players who didn't make the US team to win more during the dailies than the tiny prizes offered to the winners. I think I speak for all of those who suggested numerous improvements that went unheeded: as long as their are dailies with overlays, a terrible contest is better than none!

And that, in a nutshell, is why so many players didn't play.

The funniest part in all of this is that the ballsflop qualified for the World Team by only playing last week. That's just fukkin hilarious.

Hopefully Balls is some ghost account set up by thecentaur and is playing his poker through a VPN in South Africa or something.

That said, it's a Team World tradition to never come last. 3rd last year and 2nd the year before. You know what we need this year. (don't ask who has come last every year btw. They already feel like shit)

I don't wanna brag and I can't speak for the rest of the US posters, but I'm usually kinda proud of this...the world poker cup being an exception to the rule

SBR, This is an absurd contest, but what I don't get is why you would run it more than once? The only answer I can come up with is that because Americans can not legally bet online you just don't care if you gvdl (that's an extremely complex encryption) them over without a kiss or vaseline.

This way you favour american players,because some of our players will play tourneys 4,5,6 am and its not possible that everyone will play with this time slots. You should change so first tourney will start like 10am one during qualifiers.

One from Canada, one from US and 2 from World played every tournament....average finalist missed 17 though.

Yup, on a US facing forum where the rest of the world has 3 times the representation despite being less than a third of the population...if 50% of Teams Europe/Canada/World can't make the tournaments, they'd still be over-represetned. Probably won't see much sympathy on this one!

On a practical note, with two teams (US and Canada) being in 3 time zones primarily, it's probably the best choice.

Come on guy. The rest of the groups get a huge advantage over qualifying versus the US regions and now you want more catered.
