Holloway vs Oli is a tough matchup to call me tinks.. Max Holloway by KO is my best guess..

Oli is a solid fighter though but his chin is a bit suspect and Max with his length might just test it... Do bronx is quitely on a 4 fight win streak and looked great against Nick Lents in his last fight though...http://www.sherdog.com/fighter/Charles-Oliveira-30300

I think Max takes this EASY. Max is just on another level at this point and will be contending for the title very soon.

I don't know how we did it years ago with only 30 events or so a year. Sadly a noticeable dropoff this year from last year in events, 10% unless they squeeze a couple events in that sickening wait coming Oct 4-Oct 23. Was hoping for that but seems pretty unlikely being August now.

Josh Burkman vs Patrick Cote is an interesting matchup..

Event is in Canada and can the Canadian Patrick Cote pull out the win against the Peoples Warrior? +110 Cote is very tempting and thinking of playing it..... Thoughts anyone on this match up? Both tough guys...

Pat just rolled Joe Riggs... http://www.sherdog.com/fighter/Patrick-Cote-6612

In Burkmans last fight he attempted to grapple with dhon hyun Kim, which obviously was a big mistake, but i do this shows a bit more than what it was, a tactical error, it shows an pretty high confidence in his grappling game. While patrick cote has redeemed himself a bit after he was thrown out of the ufc he came back a different fighter. A more experienced fighter and better grappler, but also with a lesser ability to take a punch. He has also slowed down a bit.

The fight is quite close but i feel burkman is slightly the better grappler and absolutely the best striker in this matchup.Im not sure if Cotes usually lay and pray tactic is enough, and while he could rely on his knock out power, thats more or less gone at this point. The minute burkman connect on patrick cotes chin this fight could be over very quickly, the handspeed and precision of burkman is surprisingly sweet. Both fighter has probably left their peak, but i def go for the most impressive fighter so, burkman by decision, or early knock out.

Odds here are just about right. I think Burkman is the better fighter but afraid of the hometown decision going in Cote's favor. The over might seem the better play.

Might be. I would be a bit conerned of the knock out power of burkman. He fast and powerful. But i agree, the smart bet is probably the over.

Burkman hasn't done much in recent fights, Patrick Cote has.. IDK??? Maybe the odds are even then on this fight.. Burkman is decent standing.. Cote is a bit slow and methodical with his striking... Moving on....

Submissions seem to be Burkmans weakness.. http://www.sherdog.com/fighter/Josh-Burkman-10003

Neil Magny should punish Rick Story standing.. Rick Story fights stiffer then a morning erection...

One thing is for sure Rick Story probably isn't gonna take down and choke out Magny as easily as Damian Maia just did anyways..http://www.sherdog.com/fighter/Neil-Magny-69166

Leaning Magny here, but I definitely see this going past 1.5 round though. I'm comfortable with Magny standing with Silva and with his latest submission lost to Maia, he should be working harder on the TDD / ground game.

I think you might be confusing me with another poster Agendaman???..

While I do like the Saints and Drew Brees to be a decent team this year I'm not picking them to win it all or even make it to the Superbowl....Did read the Drew Brees book and like the guy also... I'll be rooting for the Saints all year as they should be a tough team at home on the fast turf.. That's all I got..

I agree, Silva isn't anything that special.. I never was that impressed with the guy.. http://www.sherdog.com/fighter/Erick-Silva-15009

Magny should get the better of Silva standing.. Banking Magny's TD defense should look a little tighter in this next fight also like you suggest Unwritten... Silva ain't no Maia with his take downs.. The short notice call up shouldn't be an issue for Magny as he just fought 11 days ago also.

In on Magny as the dog!!!

No solid MLB dog plays right now.. The MLB plays are to go with the hot teams in the second half of the season.. Trends and streaks really kick into play now... I like what I'm seeing from Toronto, the Mets and the Cubs lately and will be betting on them today... That's all I got..

If I see a good dog play coming up I'll probably post on the other thread.. Still capping MLB right now for the day...

Thinking Sam Stout should take this chump Frankie Perez at even money.. http://www.sherdog.com/fighter/Frankie-Perez-79784

Fight is in Canada and one would think Sam Stout should represent.. Frankie Perez isn't anything special, one fight in the UFC and he got KO'd.... Stout might be able to drop him as well.... Stout has had 2 really tough losses, this is a must win fight for him now..http://www.sherdog.com/fighter/Sam-Stout-9901

I don't like how the books are upping the juice to -120 each though at 5Dimes.. Should be -110 or even -115 each..

    UFC Fight Night 74 - Lightweight 3 rounds - SaskTel Centre - Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada - FS1
    Sun 8/23 1901 Frankie Perez -120 o2½ -185
    7:00PM 1902 Sam Stout -120 u2½ +145

Very tough call on Stout / Perez there. Stout's chin has been shot and Perez lost to a 10-1 and 21-4 fighters in his 2 pro losses. Stout clearly not the fighter he once was and Perez is more of a submission artist so it'll be interesting. This is literally a coin flip.

Sammys chin has been questionable lately but to his credit he's been getting dropped by solid strikers in KJ Noons and Ross Pearson.. Perez is not a solid striker and or KO artist.. Thinking Sams chin holds up in this one and his TD defense might be good enough to keep the fight standing.. We'll see???...

Sam has a good guillotine choke as he almost put the ref asleep in this gif

Gotta lean Perez by a hairline. If he emphasizes on his stand up I think he'll win as he won't be in danger being submitted. Stout isn't known to playing the ground game and always prefer the stand up.

Not so Stout 0-3 in last three fights held in Canada. I'm sure his fans had high hopes but he's disappointed each time.

Thanks Jibby.... I rarely lay that kind of juice and go with a parlay but just figured the line would move and sure enough it's a -220 now. Also with my small parlay pending on Holloway combined with my 2 big bets I look as if I have him at +118 with what I have at risk and what I'd get paid as of now.
