I'm still only a few months into the Bitcoin world...but it seems like the last week, there has been more price fluctuation than there has been over the past few months...

Has anyone else noticed this? Seems like 440-465 has been pretty active and big swings in that range...

I keep an eye on it but have no opinion on where it's going.

Block size problem isn't as much of a worry anymore.

Can you walk me through the process of buying Ether? I already have a load of Bitcoin just sitting in my Blockchain wallet...what is my next step to hop on board this train?

Here's a list of all the places where you can get ETH http://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/ethereum/#markets

Most places you buy ETH with BTC https://poloniex.com/exchange#btc_eth

Some allow trades with cash and other currencies.

Yes. Some are risky pump and dump. You never know what's going to happen with the new coins.

After looking at the Poloniex link you posted...I see you buy the Ether and the price is in comparison to Bitcoin...after you make the swap...I'm guessing you will then have "X" amount of Ether...and it won't be based on Bitcoin as the underlying value comparison?

I use Poloniex, Kraken and BTC-e. Also run my bitcoins through the 3 plus BitStamp.

As of today...looking at the Ether chart...I would wait to buy...should be a pullback coming

Looking at the last 3 days on the candle chart, there have been 2 days with long wicks up top, meaning they pushed price higher, but could not hold, so sold off...and today, you have a very negative bearish engulfing pattern...

I'm hoping to see a drop, and load up at a slightly lower price.

*Current Ether price is $9.95

Does Lisk have the backing and strong future developmental plans around it like Ether seems to?

Again, I'm new to following cryptos...but it does seem that Ether has big players behind it....

Question about Exchanges:

If you transfer Bitcoins you already own, to an exchange (like Poloniex)...do you have the option to convert them to USD while you sit and wait for favorable times to buy/trade Bitcoin/Ether?etc...?

You would sell them first to get USD in return.

it actually got to $14 and quickly drastic drop. that was crazy but like everything else, ether gets manipulated by some big players.

The volume traded on Ether is crazy right now. BTC $83m last 24 hours, ETH $61m.

The previous high was $31m

No coin has ever come close to BTC in a 24 hour period.
