Special Post-Season Rules for Both MLB and for Betting
With the threat of rain during World Series Game 2 Wednesday night (game now moved up to 7:00 ET), now seems like a good time to re-visit the special post season rules for both MLB and for Betting.

For MLB purposes, there are no rain-shortened post-season games. Instead, games that would normally be shortened during the regular season will instead be suspended until the next day. For betting purposes, all plays will continue to have action until the game is final regardless of the date completed, so unlike the regular season, betting rules and MLB rules are actually in sync.

Keep in mind I am only talking about bets made at USA-facing books before the game, Euro books may have their own rules and Live Betting rules may be different.

Wasn't it the game in the rays-phillies WS that made a lot of books change this rule to how it currently is

Yes. In that specific case, game was suspended tied late, like 7th or 8th inning, and most books had special line available the next day for rest of game with no listed pitchers. All plays made on first day were Pushed because they were using regular season rule at time.

Pinnacle has not been USA-facing for nearly 10 years.

But actually, rule DOES apply to Pinnacle also, except that they require completion within 96 hours (4 days).

Treatment if event does not come to its natural conclusion

              1. If a game is called or suspended, the winner is determined by the score after the last full inning unless the home team scores to tie, or takes the lead in the bottom half of the inning, in which case the winner is determined by the score at the time the game is called. Monies will be refunded if the home team ties the game and it is then suspended. Events will not carry over to the following day unless otherwise specified.
              2. If a game is called or suspended in extra innings, the score will be determined after the last full inning unless the home team scores to tie, or takes the lead in the bottom half of the inning, in which case the score is determined at the time the game is called.
              3. In the case of a suspended playoff game that will be resumed in a span of 96 hours after its suspension, all wagers have action and will be graded after the completion of the game. If the game is not completed within the 96 hours following the time of suspension, then all bets have no action.
              4. For wagers on Live Baseball all games must go 9 innings (8.5 innings if the home team is leading) and be played to completion within 7 days of the start time to have action. This rule applies to wagers on the Moneyline, Runline and Totals. Example: A live game is suspended in the 7th inning and is not resumed in 7 days. All wagers on Moneyline, Runline and Totals have no action even if the outcome of a wager is already determined. A wager on the Over 7 runs at a score of 5-8 is considered no action.
              5. For wagers on Pregame or Live Baseball on a specific inning or a group of innings those wagers have action if the specific timeframe is completed, regardless if the entire game has concluded.
              6. Wagers made prior to the start of a game in the live trading folder will be canceled if that game is postponed after not starting on its scheduled day.
