Tuesday's NHL slate has 9 games on tap, providing plenty of betting value for my NHL predictions today. Notable matchups include the Carolina Hurricanes vs. Montreal Canadiens, Vegas Golden Knights vs. Seattle Kraken, and Minnesota Wild vs. Buffalo Sabres.

My primary NHL best bet tonight is the Hurricanes vs. Canadiens goal total under. Brandon Bussi is Carolina's starting netminder tonight, having previously led the Hurricanes to a Stanley Cup victory and allowing 6 goals in 4 starts against Vegas. I've got another goal total and a moneyline favorite to tail for my two additional NHL picks.

NHL best bet today

Hurricanes vs. Canadiens Under 6.5 (-120 via DraftKings)

The Hurricanes and Canadiens are very familiar with each other. Carolina rattled off 4 straight wins in last year's playoff series.

Tonight's goaltending is expected to feature Bussi and Jakub Dobes, with Bussi playing a big role in betting on Under 6.5. The goal total under has cashed in 11 of Carolina's previous 13 matchups against Eastern Conference opponents.

Carolina has scored 5 total goals across 3 games played this season. Expect a physical, low-scoring affair at Bell Centre tonight.

Go to DraftKings and bet Under 6.5 at -120 odds.

📡 SBR Edge: Overtime Leads To Unders

The Canadiens have gone under the goal total line in 6 straight games following an overtime finish.

Devils Moneyline (-125 via BetMGM)

Jack Hughes will look to lead the Devils back above .500 at home against the Mammoth tonight. Goaltenders expected in this game are Karel Vejmelka (1.52 GAA) and Jake Allen (1.89 GAA), both playing well to start the season.

The Devils have won 5 consecutive games played against Central Division opponents, including 4 straight against Western Conference opponents. New Jersey also has an extra day of rest to their advantage in tonight's matchup.

The Mammoth lost all 3 games against the Devils last season. New Jersey is 1-0 at home in the Prudential Center, while Utah just lost 4-2 on the road to the Rangers.

Senators vs. Red Wings Under 6.5 (-145 via DraftKings)

The undefeated Senators play the second half of a back-to-back tonight, leaving Boston with a 4-1 win over the Bruins, heading to Detroit to take on the Red Wings. Ottawa will likely roll out Samuel Ersson (3.00 GAA) against John Gibson (2.07 GAA) in the crease for this game.

The Senators have gone 6-0-1 to the Under in their last 7 games played. TheUnder has also cashed in 5 straight games when Ottawa is a betting favorite.

The Red Wings are 0-2, held to 2 total goals. Detroit has also lost both of these games on home ice.

DraftKings is the only shop offering 6.5 as the total.
