Despite losing 24-0 as small road favorites against the New Orleans Saints, the Las Vegas Raiders are in the same position while traveling to Jacksonville. Read on for our Raiders-Jaguars picks.

Just when it looked like the Raiders had turned the corner, they came out and played their worst football game of the season in New Orleans last week. They lost 24-0 and managed just 183 yards of total offense and 13 first downs.

The Jaguars have lost five games in a row after starting the season 2-1. Every loss has been by one possession, the most recent of which was a 21-17 loss to the Denver Broncos in London.

Raiders vs. Jaguars ATS Pick

Raiders -1.5 (-106) ★

This game is a toss-up, but we’re giving the edge to the Raiders because NFL teams that get blown out one week tend to come out fired up the following week. Just look at the New England Patriots and what they did to the New York Jets after getting destroyed by the Chicago Bears the previous week.

These are two of the most frustrating teams in the NFL, as the Raiders have covered the spread three times this year and the Jaguars are just 2-6. During their five-game losing streak, the Jaguars have lost very winnable games, falling to Houston, Indianapolis, and Denver, all of whom are below .500.

Meanwhile, with the exception of last week, the Raiders have looked pretty good over the last few games. However, they’re 0-4 on the road, and they have covered the spread in just one of those games. But the Jaguars have not only lost their last five games, they haven’t covered in any of them either. That’s why, if forced to pick, we’re taking the Raiders.

Raiders vs. Jaguars O/U Pick

Over 47.5 (-110) ★★★★

Only three times this season has the total in a Jaguars’ game gone above this number. In their last four games, three of them saw totals of 40 points or less. Their defense is allowing just 19.8 points per game, but that has more to do with the offenses they’re facing than the quality of their defensive unit.

The Raiders are still averaging 23.3. points per game, despite being shut out last week in New Orleans. Prior to that game, they had scored at least 19 points in every one of their games this season.

The Jaguars’ offense hasn’t been great of late, but the Raiders have allowed 20 or more points in every single game this season. If that trend continues, and the Jaguars get into the 20s, then this is easily going to go Over.

Raiders vs. Jaguars Prop Pick

Jacobs Over 75.5 rushing yards (-115) ★★★★

The Raiders inexplicably went away from their rushing attack against the Saints, which prevented Josh Jacobs from notching his fourth consecutive 100-yard game. In the three games prior to Sunday’s debacle, Jacobs had rushed for 441 yards and six touchdowns, with his lowest rushing total being 143 yards. That span was also when the Raiders picked up their only two wins of the season and lost by one point to the Kansas City Chiefs.

The Jaguars own one of the better rush defenses in the NFL, but they are still allowing 109.1 yards per game. The Raiders are going to look to get back to what worked for them while they were playing well and Jacobs is going to easily clear this number.

As kickoff gets closer, it may also be worth looking for a Jacobs Over 100 rushing yards prop that comes in at about +130 or higher.
