Atlanta (5-8) enters this matchup just one game back of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for first place in the division. New Orleans is still also alive at 4-9, but losing four of its previous five games does not inspire much confidence.

New Orleans looks for its second season sweep of Atlanta in the last three years, as the Saints beat the Falcons 27-26 in Week 1. The winner of this game will hold a slight all-time series edge, as the two teams have split the prior 106 meetings.

New Orleans opened as 3.5-point favorites and reached as high as 4.5 at some sportsbooks, with most settling at -4. There has been solid two-way action on this spread all week, as the Saints are currently attracting 50% of the tickets and 58% of the cash.

The O/U has seen a major case of reverse line movement. The total has gone from 41.5 up to 43.5, despite 71% of the handle backing the Under.

While many will point to Desmond Ridder’s first career start as the reason they will not pick Atlanta, we will make the argument that makes the Falcons undervalued as underdogs. Ridder has three running backs (Tyler Allgeier, Cordarrelle Patterson, and Caleb Huntley) that have all rushed for 364-plus yards that he can utilize to take the pressure off of him in his first road start. The Saints have the 19th-ranked run defense, and the Falcons ran for 201 yards and 5.3 yards per carry in their first meeting.

New Orleans switched from Jameis Winston to Andy Dalton at quarterback, hoping Dalton would protect the ball better. Instead, his seven interceptions are a big reason the Saints rank 31st in turnover margin (-12).

The Saints have failed to cover any of their last four games following a bye week, while the road team is 5-2 ATS in the previous seven meetings between these teams.
