Expectations are high for a Denver Broncos team that has Super Bowl aspirations for the upcoming season. Can the Broncos regain their place as an elite AFC team, which produced a Super Bowl trip in both 2013 and 2015? Find out with our Broncos futures odds, picks, and preview for the upcoming season.

The Broncos had a busy offseason, acquiring Russell Wilson from the Seattle Seahawks and bringing in a brand-new coaching staff led by first-time head coach Nathaniel Hackett

Patrick Mahomes and Kansas City cast a large shadow over every AFC West team, but Denver potentially has the personnel to unseat the Chiefs from their six-year reign atop the division. The Broncos have depth at all the offensive skill positions and a defense that improved from 21st in 2020 to eighth by yards per game last season. How should we bet the Broncos as they enter the year with a ton of potential but few certainties?

Below, we preview the 2022 season for the Denver Broncos with a look at their futures odds and make our top picks (odds via FanDuel SportsbookBetMGM, and DraftKings Sportsbook).

Broncos to win AFC West (+260)

This number is the same at FanDuel and BetMGM, and yet the value is too tempting to pass up. The Chiefs have won the division for six consecutive seasons, but their talent difference between the rest of the AFC West teams has shrunk dramatically after losing explosive wideout Tyreek Hill. Denver has now eliminated their biggest weakness under center, and has a deep collection of receivers, running backs, and tight ends. On defense, Bradley Chubb and Randy Gregory provide a strong linebacking foundation, and a secondary that ranks among the best in the NFL with Justin Simmons and Kareem Jackson.

The biggest concern centers around the inexperienced coaching staff, but that’s why we are getting a superior value on this bet. Prior to last season, Wilson had guided the Seahawks to a top two finish in their division for nine consecutive years. I’ll gladly grab the Broncos with possibly the best offense in the division.

Broncos Over 10 wins (-120)

I’m grabbing the higher win total from DraftKings at -120. We push if Denver wins exactly 10 games, but a very favorable midseason run of opponents makes 11 wins solidly within the range of outcomes.

The Broncos play the Jets at home and the Jaguars in London in Week 7 and 8. After a Week 9 bye, they play the Tennessee Titans, are at home to the Raiders, and then travel to play the Carolina Panthers. Their toughest matchups come at the end of the season at the Los Angeles Rams, at Kansas City, and at home to the Chargers. That Week 18 game against the Chargers may be irrelevant for a playoff position, but will potentially still carry weight for seeding.

I’m on the Broncos to win the AFC West, so I’m certainly backing Denver to hit the Over on their win total. I’m even considering the alternate line of over 11 wins at +200 on DraftKings as well.

Williams Under 7.5 rushing touchdowns (-112)

I love to fade the public whenever possible, and Williams is receiving a ton of love from bettors. Melvin Gordon signed a one-year, $2.5 million contract in late April. They could have let the 29-year-old Gordon leave and use Williams as the dominant lead running back. However? They didn’t.

Williams produced only a 51% snap share that ranked just 30th among all running backs. He produced seven total touchdowns, but only four on the ground. To beat this prop he would have to double his rushing touchdowns from 2021. Gordon ranked 15th among all running backs with 37 red zone carries, to Williams' only 29 attempts which ranks 25th.

I expect Williams to be used much more, but doubling his rushing touchdowns after Gordon was re-signed is too steep of a projection with a completely different coaching staff.

Wilson to win NFL MVP (+1400)

Wilson is long overdue for an MVP. He has produced blistering starts and fantastic finishes to individual seasons but has never put it all together for a full campaign. On a new team, with the best weapons of his career, now is the perfect time for that legendary season.

Facing heavy competition in the AFC West can be a blessing, however. Denver will need to continue to produce high point totals to win games, and victories against high-quality opponents in the division might mean more recognition than his last couple of seasons in Seattle. There is too much value in Wilson carrying only the eighth-best odds on FanDuel and DraftKings to pass up this opportunity.
