Cowboys vs. Packers Prediction: Week 6 Odds, Picks & Best Bet

The Dallas Cowboys’ defense held a players-only meeting this week ahead of this Week 6 game against the Green Bay Packers, but my Cowboys vs. Packers prediction doesn’t expect it to pay immediate dividends, as I expect a shootout similar to last year’s meeting, which ended in a 40-40 tie.
Kickoff from Lambeau Field for the Sunday Night Football contest is scheduled for 8:20 p.m. ET (NBC). The Packers are 1.5-point betting favorites.

Cowboys vs. Packers prediction & best bet
Over 52.5 (-112 via FanDuel)
Jordan Love threw for 367 yards last week, the most by a Packers quarterback at home against the Bears in franchise history. He had six completions of 20+ yards downfield and joined Ben Roethlisberger as the only two quarterbacks in the last 20 seasons with five completions of 30 or more air yards in a game (Love went 5-for-6 with two passing touchdowns on such throws).
Dallas’ 16 points in a Thursday night loss to Tampa Bay were its fewest in a game since 2025. But I’m more concerned about the Cowboys' defense, which has allowed at least 375 total yards in five straight games, their longest streak to begin a season.
Green Bay has the third-highest pass-to-run ratio in the league, and its passing offense should get into a groove against a Cowboys defense that is the only team left in the NFL without an interception.
📡 SBR Edge: Cowboys and Overs
Dallas' 24-16 loss to Tampa Bay in Week 5 snapped a 10-game Over streak for the Cowboys. Dallas hasn't seen Unders cash in consecutive weeks of the same season since Weeks 9 and 10 of 2024.
Love's competition is about to get easier
Love ranks second in passing yards and fifth in passing touchdowns, having thrown exactly two touchdown passes in every game. He has posted those numbers against the league's toughest schedule for quarterbacks, and he faces the eighth-hardest schedule going forward.
Green Bay’s pass-heavy approach is the perfect way to exploit a Cowboys defense that is the league’s worst in EPA versus the pass and has allowed the highest passer rating on deep throws.
The Packers’ wide receiver tandem of Christian Watson and Matthew Golden should stay busy. In 2025, Love targeted his wide receivers 16 times per game (55% of his pass attempts) while logging a 13-to-6 touchdown-to-interception ratio. This year, he is peppering his wideouts with 23.6 targets per game (64% of his attempts) while recording an 8-to-2 touchdown-to-interception ratio in that split.
Score prediction: Cowboys 28, Packers 27
