Report: Cowboys to Trade Amari Cooper to Browns
The Cleveland Browns will reportedly acquire wide receiver Amari Cooper and a sixth-round selection in the 2022 NFL Draft from the Dallas Cowboys in exchange for a fifth-round and sixth-round pick in the 2022 NFL Draft, NFL Insider Adam Schefter tweeted Saturday.

The transaction follows a report the Cowboys were planning to release Cooper before the official start of the 2022 NFL Season on Wednesday.
Cooper is owed a fully guaranteed $20 million Sunday, March 20, which Cleveland will now be on the hook for.

The 27-year-old wide receiver spent three and a half years with the Cowboys and totalled 292 receptions for 3,893 yards and 27 touchdowns, so expect third-year wide receiver CeeDee Lamb to ascend to the top of the Dallas wide receiver depth chart.
The Cowboys have also been working on a new contract with wide receiver Michael Gallup.

Cooper will be the clear-cut No. 1 receiver for the Browns, and especially if Jarvis Landry’s wish to be traded comes to fruition.
While the trade is definitely a positive for the Browns, it’s probably not a boost for Cooper’s MVP outlook. Cleveland projects to continue with a run-first attack next year, and the downgrade from Dallas quarterback Dak Prescott to Cleveland quarterback Baker Mayfield could prove significant.
