New Hampshire has released its sports betting handle figures for June 2024, and one of our best sportsbooks had a notable increase from last year's activity.

The New Hampshire Lottery reported a betting handle of just under $49.4 million, a 25.7% year-on-year increase. The New Hampshire sports betting market generated a Gross Gaming Revenue (GGR) of nearly $5.3 million and collected $2.3 million in taxes.

Some numbers down

While the figures marked a year-on-year increase, they dropped from the betting handle, GGR, and taxes collected in May when the Granite State reported a $58 million handle, $6.5 million GGR, and $2.8 million in taxes. Sports betting in May was boosted by increased wagering on the NBA and the Boston Celtics’ run to the NBA Championship, according to reports from the New Hampshire Lottery.

The June 2024 figures were the lowest since last August and the first time the betting handle had dropped below $50 million since that same month, which saw a handle of $38.8 million.

The finer details

As with most states, the bulk of the figures came from online sports betting, with players wagering almost $44.6 million through online platforms compared to $4.8 million at retail sportsbooks. Residents could also take advantage of New Hampshire sportsbook promos.

June 2024 marks the end of the Financial Year 2024 for the New Hampshire Lottery. The state handled $753 million for FY2024, GGR hit $76.8 million over this period, and $33.7 million was collected in taxes. The best month for betting handle was December, with nearly $78.8 million spent by players.

All these figures marked declines from FY2023, where the Granite State handled $883.7 million with GGR of $81 million and $36.9 million in taxes collected.
