Bally’s Evansville Casino & Hotel in Indiana has now won a total of eleven awards from Casino Player Magazine’s 2024 Best of Gaming Awards. Out of all of the casinos in Southern Indiana, Bally’s Evansville took home the “Best Casino” award. One of our best sports betting sites also picked up some hardware.

local news source revealed Bally's improvement after finishing as the runner-up to Hollywood Casino Lawrenceburg last year. Other awards the casino won this year include Best Blackjack, Best Players Club, Casino Where You Feel The Luckiest, Best Dealers, Favorite Resort For A Staycation, and Best Non-Smoking Casino/Area.

Its Bally Bet sportsbook in the Indiana sports betting market was highlighted as the Friendliest Sportsbook and having the Best Betting Options, while hotel-specific awards included Best Hotel Staff and Best Hotel Suites.

“We are incredibly honored to receive the Best Casino Award along with the other ten prestigious awards,” said Tim Bollmann, Vice President and General Manager of Bally’s Evansville, in a release.

“These recognitions are a testament to our team’s unwavering dedication to providing the best possible experience for our guests. We are grateful to our patrons for their continued support and look forward to welcoming them back to enjoy our award-winning services and amenities.”

The casino also secured many of the same awards last year, when it also captured the Player’s Choice Award.

First on the scene

After the Indiana Gaming Commission (IGC) issued its first licenses in 1994, Bally’s Evansville was the Hoosier State’s first land-based/riverboat casino. It opened in December 1995, originally named Casino Aztar Evansville. The casino later changed its name to Tropicana Evansville in 2013 before rebranding as Bally’s Evansville in 2021. Indiana does not currently have real money online casinos.

In 2017, the casino moved from a riverboat to a land-based facility where it is located today. Bally’s Evansville features a 45,000-square-foot casino offering 940 slot games, 28 live and electronic games, and a Bally Bet Sportsbook. There is also a 243-room hotel, restaurants, bars, and an event center.

Today, Indiana law authorizes ten land-based or riverboat casinos on Lake Michigan and the Ohio River, one land-based casino in French Lick, and racinos at the two horse tracks in the state.

The IGC oversees the state’s gambling activities, including land-based casinos, horse racing, and Indiana sports betting apps and retail sites. In the latest financial results for July 2024, Indiana sportsbooks reported a 24.9% increase in adjusted sports betting revenue to $29 million, with FanDuel leading, followed by DraftKings.
