The first round of the 2022 NFL Draft was an exciting one highlighted by blockbuster trades and the lack of quarterbacks taken.

There were many winners and losers between aggressive moves and the inability to fill needs for specific teams, including a disappointing night for one individual in particular.

Winners

New York Jets

It's been eons since we could say the Jets were winners, but here we are.

The Jets had a spectacular draft - beginning with their first pick Ahmad "Sauce Gardner, at No.4 - widely regarded as the best cornerback in the draft and a true game-breaker.

They would next draft a wide receiver, Garrett Wilson, at No.10, to provide quarterback Zach Wilson with a weapon and steal defense end Jermaine Johnson at pick 26 - touted to go in the top-10.

Though these three players won't solve all their problems, they will allow the team to become more competitive and build toward the future.

The Jets are currently +2500 underdogs to win the hyper-competitive AFC East Division at DraftKings.

Philadelphia Eagles

The Eagles made quite the splash Thursday night; trading picks Nos. 18 and 101 to the Tennessee Titans for stud wide receiver A.J. Brown.

The Eagles have recently struggled to draft and develop wide receivers - See: Jalen Reagor.

So by essentially drafting Brown in the first round, they give quarterback Jalen Hurts another weapon to pair with speedy receiver DeVonta Smith.

After the big trade, the Eagles Super Bowl Odds dropped dramatically at most shops.

The Eagles finished 9-8 last season and hope to chase down division rival and favorite Dallas Cowboys. Currently, they're +275 'dogs to win the NFC East Division.

Losers

Green Bay Packers

If you were living under a rock this offseason, or just in Green Bay, Wisconsin, the Packers traded away star receiver Davante Adams to the Oakland Raiders - leaving a significant void to fill in their receiving corp.

With the 2022 draft providing the best receiving pool in years, it was a lock for the Packers to draft a wide receiver in the first round. Right? ... Right!?

Wrong.

The Packers would audible from every draft pundits playbook and select two defensive players in the first round - Quay Walker, LB, Georgia (No. 22) and Devonte Wyatt, DT, Georgia (No. 28).

As it stands, the Packers' top receiver is Randall Cobb? Allen Lazard? The ghost of Sammy Watkins? You get it.

In fairness, the Packers have shown a penchant for drafting stud receivers in the second round - See: Jordy Nelson, Davante Adams, so I guess it could work out, but it's still puzzling.

The Packers are +1100 favorites to win the Super Bowl at FanDuel, despite a receiving group that rivals the prison team from The Longest Yard. However, Aaron Rodgers might be a better quarterback than Adam Sandler. So that's a plus.

Malik Willis

Willis was the consensus pre-draft favorite to be the first quarterback selected in the draft.

However, Kenny Pickett would take home that honor after being selected by the Pittsburgh Steelers with the 20th overall pick.

It was widely speculated that a team would trade into the late first round to scoop Willis but to no avail.

Fear not, Malik, as you're now the -550 favorite to be the next quarterback taken early in the second round at FanDuel.

While Thursday was a disappointment for Willis, it shouldn't be long before he's the quarterback on an NFL roster - and a motivated one at that.
