    Any opinions on Las Palmas?
Anyone play there? I see it on the contest list, and was wondering what everyone thought about them.....

Solid book, but they spam you. Make sure you are playing at the real site, and not the F-rated ripoff site.

Nice little shop. I have used them for years.

They are not the greatest if you are looking for high limits but other than that, thumbs up.

Somewhat of an understatement. I was collared after 4 bets there in 2006.

They were very polite about it, and cashed me out with no hassles, but 4 bets?!?

They have since solicited me a number of times for their betting exchange eHorseX. I have looked it over a few times, but liquidity seems low - not much action.

That is not normal from them. Just the opposite, I have found them to be very relaxed.

You have been around long enough that you know the questions in my head. Steam? IP issues? I have been talking to a lot of players for a long time and it would be very out of character for Las Palmas to restrict someone after 4 plain, old bets.

When I first started playing there years back, I was mainly just picking out their off-moneylines and props for arbs. It was pretty obvious and if anyone should have been restricted it was me.

But I actually have special limits there that are twice as high as the standard now. I never asked for it; I just realized it had happened when I saw people still talking about their $500 limits on things where I have a dime.

That was me. Four max underdog moneyline bets and I was done.

this is seeming like it was already a mistake possibly, i signed up last night cause it was one of the books listed in the contest section that i didn't have an account with, i have already gotten multiple e-mails, and just had some lady call me saying she is going to be my account manager, and wanting to gab with me.

LaspalmasSportsbook is the fake. It's run by Apex Robbie who stiffed a bunch of players a few years back.

The real Las Palmas is in the CRIS building.

cant say anything about las palmas but i am constantly and utterly surprised why people play anywhere except the A+ or A books listed here at SBR, if SBR grades them an A+ or A, then i trust them, anything less than A and i really dont think its worth a chance

decent shop. They were way better 4-5 years ago. Their Casino was very soft. Their lines were unique. They have squared off somewhat.

Very true Chi-Town. Back when I started playing there ~5 years ago, the dog lines on NCAAF and NCAAB were amazing. And they had a lot of unique stuff. Things have become more vanilla. But their baseball action this summer has been respectable.

Ratings are helpful for sure but they are somewhat subjective.

For example, Centrebet gets a B+ rating which I don't understand, I realize thay don't take US players but are in every way an A+ book for those that can have an account with them.

I'd rather play at Centrebet than most A+ books listed on SBR.

I have seen variations of this comment about a million times in my years around forums. I'm sure that a lot of times it is being made rhetorically, but some people probably really don't understand and would like an explanation.

I think what I'll do next time I'm trying to avoid work is type up an explanation and post it in a new thread. It makes perfect sense when you look at it.

betplom's very good response is only a part of it.
