Software - at the risk of being a drippy old fart . . .
Like, I don't want to be that guy. You know, the guy who is always moaning about how things were better in the good old days.

But for anyone who has been around for awhile, I've got ask: when it comes to sportsbook websites, things were better in the good old days, right?

In the last few days I've looked at Skybook (stalls at random times, craps out and makes you open a new window and start over), BetOnline (too inconsistent to even try to explain), SBG-Global (had to learn a tricky navigation path just to get around all the stalls logging in). Sportbet logs you out after 3 and a half seconds.

Meanwhile Just Bet is doing something in the background and suddenly takes over my computer with some dopey message asking if I want to stay logged in or not which I have to answer before I can continue whatever else I was doing. I hope this never happens when I'm approaching my high score on Bejeweled 2 dammit.

And that is far from my only complaint about the Just Bet software.

Then there are all these sites like Legendz and BetJoint that have switched to BLR (???) software. Just dragging your mouse over certain things gives you a dropdown menu you didn't ask for and blocks stuff underneath. Why?

Maybe my memory is playing tricks. I know there were problems years ago. I remember fighting with the VIP site for ages.

But it just seems like every upgrade these books try makes things worse.

    Okay I'm done.

I don't play at any of the books you mentioned, but it sounds like there's a lot of room for improvement.

My award for smoothest software and simplest layout goes to Matchbook. Canbet is great, as is WSEX. Greek, the ugly duckling from the stone age, has good software as well.

I used to be annoyed at the layout of some books. I don't think they understand how important looks are where it comes to spending money. The look I would prefer combines minimalist, motorcycle, industrial, and tattoo.
