About two years ago I had a disagreement with "Tony" and was asked to leave 5dimes. I violated one of their rules by placing a wager on a political prop after the results were public. It was an honest mistake, I admitted to "Tony" that I violated their rules but I stood by my assertion that it was unintentional and I apologized. Since the wager in question was canceled shortly after I placed it, I didn't gain anything from the mistake, so there was no harm done. "Tony" didn't believe me, accused me of stealing money from his pocket, and asked me to leave 5dimes. I did so happily.
Now that "Tony" is no longer with 5d I'm interested in playing there again, as I was pretty satisfied with them overall before the incident in question. I recently asked them if they would consider re-opening my account. I was told that if I make a $100 donation to the local Humane Society and send them proof, management will "reconsider" opening my account.
Has anyone else heard of something like this? The Humane Society is a great organization, and I have no problem donating, but this feels like flat-out bribery. Bribery for a good cause, but bribery nonetheless. And my donation will get me "reconsideration," nothing more.
After 20 years of online gaming, I thought I had heard it all. But this is a new one. Happy Friday, everyone.
