    Bookmaker Bounced my Check
I really like Bookmaker as they paid me in a decent timeframe...usually a few days to a week for a courier check....but recently the check i received BOUNCED and my account is now negative...

For some reason i logged onto my account today and it is listed **********!

Has anyone had this happen, can you please giive me advice on how to handle this properly. Much appreciated.

I'm really infuriated. $10 fee for having check bounce, and NSF $25.
so really a $35 charge. Bookmaker needs to pay for this...

    Please advise. Thanks.

This is starting to become too common an occurence for Bookmaker.
I would expect them to reimburse you immediately for bounced check fees. E-mail them and request the $35.

Earlier this year, a couple of checks from Bookmaker's processor bounced too.

The checks arrived on time. I deposited 2 checks and waited for the funds to be available in my account. A few days later, I transferred the funds to another account once my bank made the funds available. Days later, the check bounced. The bank decided to shut down my account. They probably thought that I was trying to steal money from them. Bookmaker reimbursed me for fees but it was a hassle. I had to go to the ATM several days in a row to withdraw cash from my other account to cover the balance.

Now I wait for 2 weeks after a check posts before drawing against those funds.

What a great news ! I'm expecting a check from them...so this doesn't look good.
5 weeks ago I had the same problem with Bookmaker, I got a bad check of $2995. I had to send them a copy of the bounced check and the Bank statement to prove that I didn't cash the check.
They said it was an "isolated" incident and returned the money to my betting account. Since then I withdraw $800 twice using Money Gram...but it takes like 6-7 business days to get the maximum $800 this way and you have to call them every day to ask them for the transfer number and they will be rude with you if you dare calling before 10 business passed since your withdraw request.
Fill a complain form, that helped me a lot, it got there attention fast.
Call me crazy but I think this bookie is going bankrupt.

I have to show them a copy of bounced check and bank statement? The statement to show that the amount was charged back?

No, the statement was saying that the check was rejected (by the Bank) on the grounds of "insufficient funds"...this is like a standard explanation, the Bank will not elaborate.

My check was issued by some "Monetary Fund" from Florida far as I remember. There is a chance the Bookmaker affiliate is blacklisted by the US Gov. and their checks are bounced automatically.

Here is the problem I had a month ago http://forum.sbrforum.com/sportsbook...going-bad.html

What I dont get is how the check cashing places can tell if a check is good on the spot, but the banks cant? Ive got a check coming from DSI and I will use a check cashing place and pay the 3% fee. Something is fishy with this whole thing of checks bouncing days later if they are drawn on a US bank.

I also realize that you couldnt use a check cashing place for a $9000 check either.

The few times I used a check cashing service they call the issuing bank of the check directly and verify that funds are available to cover it... I had them refuse to cash checks before because the secondary bank wouldn't verify the account and that it had necessary funds available... Your bank could do this as well but since you are a customer they obviously have means of getting their money back not available to check cashing service and they also get significant fees if the check bounces...

There's definitely problems with Bookmaker right now. Are there problems at the other CRIS books?

I all depend who issued the check. The check cashing places won't touch the checks issued by Bookmaker ...and they absolutely freak out if the check is over $1000.
I had an account with Cash Advance and I give them a year ago a $1000 check...the guy there start acting weird, putting stupid questions type "who give you this check?", "why?"...and in the end the c@@@sucker refuse to cash it. I drop the check at the Bank and few days later got the cash.
Don't bother to go to a cashing place with those checks unless they are issued by a very well know Bank. For God Sake, the last check I got from Bookmaker didn't even had a phone number listed.

So with Bookmaker, you have to sweat the game and the payout!

Why do people love this place so much?

I've had over 100 checks with BetJM and Greek and never had one bounce!

Next time ask for Money Gram or Western Union transfer, is slow but is working. I asked for a check before 6th October and all what I got so far is a NOT WORKING USPS tracking number. I called USPS and they have no package related to this number. I'm still waiting, Bookamker is saying that the package was shipped from Singapore and didn't reach yet US...it drives me crazy.

The tracking number was issued by Singapore Postal Service...but they don't elaborate beyond saying they mailed a package. This is all what I have as far as the tracking number is saying...and I paid $50 to have the check delivered:

So you have over 5k...it will take you forever to get that kind of money using Money Gram, since the limit is maximum $800 that way, once a week. Good luck with the bank wire...it should be no issues that way.

Did Bookmaker paid also for your bounced check fee ?

At least the site didn't get charged on 4 Plus+ different Foreign sites with your credit card ranging from dating sites to computer software without your notification and then get a reversed ********** afterwards your dispute even though every sites print out is in Dutch and you are American with no knowledge of that language. Somehow this happened to me and Citi tried to help me but ALL of the charges have now been reversed back onto my account even though the print outs of the websites they sent me are in some ****ed up language. There are a lot of shady books out there.

Doesn't tendering checks that bounce amount to fraud?

How Bookmaker is an A rated book by settling up with dud checks is beyond me. It's not a one off situation when reading the posts. A down grade is warranted here.

Myhedgefound, was your bounced check issued by a Bank in Singapore ? I hope I won't give my Bank another bad check, if that would happen I would most likely get raped in the parking lot by the staff to teach other costumers a lesson about writing bad checks.
