#3A site that operates legally and is still taking deposits and offering solid bonuses but not paying customers out. They've been stiffing people for months now.Comment -

#7Apologies for digging up a 2 year old thread. As mentioned in OP's post-Thrive Fantasy appears to have closed up shop and somehow, possibly exit scammed. Fast forward 2 years, their app is off the app store, their website goes to a blank white screen after login, and their business license in the state of New York has been suspended.
Their CEO who "promised" everyone would be paid still maintains his position with the company via his Linkedin page. I have gone through every channel of reporting to the state of New York which appears to be a waste of time, they just respond insisting that there's not enough reports but they were document my claim in case there are more of me. I did reach out to small claims court assistance where the dude was really nice and did some digging and can see that they're not in good standing. It's estimated users are owed ~$400,000 still.
I can only dig up one public lawsuit for over 20k where the guy won, who knows if they were paid. I'm at about 3.5 owed so not enough to necessarily book a plane ticket to NYC and summon them but this is still annoying. They were supposed to be a licensed, U.S dfs site, no clue how they can get away with this. Every "small" DFS site I've been on (monkey knife fight, superdraft, stathero) who closed up shop, properly paid out all balances. Anybody have any experience what channels would be proper to seeing Thrive issued to do the same?👍 1Comment -

#8That’s brutal. If the site is gone and their license is suspended, that’s a huge red flag. Being owed 3.5k is no small amount either. I’d definitely try to connect with other users who are owed money and push together. That might be the only way to get any real movement on this.Originally posted by nbaguy23Apologies for digging up a 2 year old thread. #9Appreciate you, that's been my sentiment as well. Any search of them of them I've done over the last couple of years has resulted in numerous complaints on their last tweet, app store reviews, youtube comments, as well as reddit posts but that doesn't reach any ears of "power". Seems as Thrive"s goal is to just be forgotten and bank that nobody is going to come after them.Originally posted by ProSportsEdgeThat’s brutal. Their Ceo's history is pretty interestingly dull, dude was slinging tickets for the Yankees out of college for 3 years and somehow was able to start a DFS site and raise 10+ million in funding at the age of ~26. I'm sure he meant well but man, this is frustrating that users get left bag holding for a dude who punched above his weight class. They publicly blamed the issue on some "check fraud scheme they were a victim of" but no word after that.
Even the former PrizePicks VP called him out last year on Linkedin telling him to pay his users. I read somewhere his business is structured in some way (LLC?) where nothing can really happen to him. If we stole a grand from Draft Kings, jail. Ceo and defraud customers for 400k, in the United Staes? Meh.
Like you said, I'm thinking only way is to start some reddit megathread and track down anyone who's been screwed by them to make the same complaint to the New York AG and see if anything comes of it.👍 1Comment -

#10Yeah, it really feels like all the complaints just got scattered and buried over time. The whole “check fraud scheme” excuse with zero real follow-up makes it even more frustrating, especially for users left holding the bag. At this point, getting everyone together in one Reddit thread and pushing complaints to the New York AG might be the only way to actually get someone’s attention.Originally posted by nbaguy23

#13Yup! I almost did it (not 50k worth lol) since it was a really good offer but by that point they had already started to offer less lines (they used to offer a bunch and be very slow to adjust on injury/lineup news)Originally posted by OptionalDoes that say it only had 2X rollover too?
Sad part for me is ~$3000 off my $3700 stuck in there is from a deposit I made to hit my amex required spend haha. Thrive didn't have a rollover requirement (no bonus) so I had put $ in there in hope to simply take it back out after the bill posted. By the time I realized they were essentially exit scamming, it was too lateComment -

#15Definitely, I hope too many people didn't bet on that promo. Yeah I care about my $ but with roughly ~400k reported missing by these guys-it's sad to think how many people seemingly without a voice affected. Yeah nobody feels bad for us gamblers especially winning ones but for the square bettor to have $ taken from them from a "legalized book"-it's nonsense they can get away with it.Originally posted by OptionalSometimes we need to put our common sense hat on when it's so obvious.
