    Betonline: Bet in Space
See where all your losses are being spent...

Be a part of sports betting history as BetOnline invites you to participate in the first-ever wager from beyond Earth’s atmosphere.

We worked with Sent Into Space to create a special, two-part history-making event which you can be a part of.

In one of two amazing feats in space, BetOnline launched a spinning coin 20 miles above the atmosphere. You can bet Heads (-105) or Tails (-105) on this record breaking coin toss right now and the result will be revealed on the BetOnline YouTube Channel at 5:00 pm on National Space Day – Friday, May 6th.

A robotic arm was used to place the first-ever bet from space, a real-time wager on the coin toss. This feat has been submitted to Guinness World Records as the “First Bet In Space”.

Be a part of history on Friday as BetOnline takes betting to all-new heights with one giant leap for sports bettors.

The ultimate air bet. I’m willing to bet at least one degenerate gambling astronaut/cosmonaut has already placed hundreds of bets from space. Is the coin going to land live in a field somewhere or are they just going to say it was heads, you lose.

Lol, it landed on its side. They should’ve actually dropped the coin, not the apparatus holding the coin. They called heads, but I call bullshit.

Good luck finding that coin with no GPS attached.

Based on how they defined "up" to be in relation to the rig, not the Earth, the coin definitely landed heads. The face that the coin and its rig landed on their sides is irrelevant.

I guess BO got their end result of, albeit somewhat flawed, publicity. I would’ve remotely released the coin ten feet off the ground. Still could’ve stuck in the ground sideways I suppose. All they did was attach a rotating coin to a weather balloon.

Yeah, it's not what I was envisioning at all. I thought an astronaut was going to flip a coin in space or something. It's still kind of impressive that a sportsbook went through with all of this engineering for a publicity stunt.
