Follow My Journey: Starting a SportsBook From Scratch
    Hello there SBR family!

I used to be an avid SBR member here years ago when I was in college, made some great friends on this forum, and learned so much about this industry. Times have changed and most of the people I was close with aren't around anymore, but I have not lost my sports gambling hobby (some say addiction) over the years. I have maintained an account for almost 12 years at the same book and have made some pretty decent money.

With that said, my passion has grown immensely over the course of the past year, and I've been given the opportunity to start my own sportsbook and casino from scratch, something I've wanted to do since I was in high school! I can get into the path that led to this later.

I know this is going to take a significant amount of capital to start (I'm already $130k in as I'm writing this) and take a lot of work to separate from other books and stand out to capture market share, but I truly think I have the team alongside me to help make that a reality.

Just like I used to post my picks here for SBR members to follow so people could follow my betting journey and provide you degenerates with some NBA and NCAA winners, I want to document my entire journey here, step by step. My hope is to be as transparent as possible and show what it really takes to start from the ground up in this industry. We will be going through everything, such as development, the thinking behind adding certain features, marketing, deciding bonuses, applying and submitting for licenses, EVERYTHING. I wish what comes from this is feedback, both good and bad, so that I can get input from another group of people that I've grown to trust in over the years. This is a customer heavy industry, and with all of you being customers, I think it would be my benefit to listen to criticism and feedback from as many of you as possible.

I'll make the first post tomorrow with a summary of what I've done up to this point, how much I've spent, what's on the horizon, and timelines.

Looking forward to this journey with you all! Let's get it!!

Interesting, you will be on the winning side if you do it right. Looking forward to the details because I have some questions. If you move to Costa Rica, be sure to learn from others successes as well as mistakes.

So after your journey you realized that the books make money long term and use the "gambler's short term win memory" psychological angle to your advantage. Welcome to the winner's circle.

            Onshore or offshore?

Onshore license fees can be silly, if not downright prohibitive.

Don't forget to add a casino side to your action, or at least consider it in your planning. It's a good stream of income for your business.

            Good Luck.
