    Bovada - Sportsbook Policy Change
I have poor reading comprehension. What does the new policy change mean and how might it affect me?

    Sportsbook Policy Change

    Mar 28, 2022
    Hi there,

We're writing this message to inform you that our Book Managers, after careful deliberation and investigation, have decided to make an adjustment to one of our player commitments you had previously been afforded.

Specifically, we have updated our Player Commitment as it pertains to the cancellation of wagers affected by a pre-match line error.

Cancellations for line errors will be made on a market by market basis and you will be informed should this occur.

    We appreciate your understanding.

    Kind Regards,
    Bovada Customer Service

I thought voiding bets due to line errors is a common thing. I don't understand what is the change as well.

Perhaps just making it official? Was it not in the rules before?

        This is the key sentence:
"Cancellations for line errors will be made on a market by market basis"

I'm guessing they are going to become more strict with cancelling wagers for line errors. At least that's how I read it. What does "market by market" mean. Who knows. It's corporate mumbo jumbo.

Sounds like they are going to free roll shot takers!

Bovada remains the only book that has ever cancelled my wager because a line steamed AFTER I bet it THEN reinstated the wager after it lost.

Instead of the rule being if any pre-game error is found the market will be void.

They are saying it will only be done at their discretion.

My guess is that it is simply due to people who target bad lines then try to say their losing bet should be voided later under the rule wording.

Bovada will absolutely free roll you on bad lines. They will wait until the game is over (or essentially over) to decide if they cancel it. They will also take other liberties at your expense. For example, lets say you bet a perfectly reasonable in-game line at a commercial break, but the line stays frozen when the action resumes. They will happily cancel that winning bet even if you bet it when it was a good line

^^^ spoken like not just a shot taker, but a slow one who does not know how to temper their greed to be successful.
