#73Originally posted by patswinInteresting that they do not take NY customers, since i am in NY and kept getting 100% cash reload text
offers from betnow. I took them up on it last week. So far so good, I played there a few years ago but never cashed out I iike the +100 odds on 6 point NFL teasers.Comment -

#75Originally posted by patswinI wonder why some books don't take NY players...doesn't make much sense since you can't use your phone to bet here yet. In person wagering only. Bovada and a few other books don't want us. Bovada changed a few years back and I use them if they send a good reload offer
Onine is not regulated so NJ pinched everyone out. I'm wondering if NY was preparing to legalize and so started warning books about taking the business.
Then things fell through on the NY side.Comment -

#76Originally posted by KVBI don't know the answer here but I suspect it was New Jersey driven. Part of the push to get sports betting going had to be access to regulated markets.

But it's possible this still could be a result of NJ and expecting NY to shift, yeah.
Edit to add: The way many states have skirted with mobile betting is that because the server conduct is technically happening at the casino, you're thus technically "at the casino" when playing online. That is the same argument being made for how it is constitutional in NY. I think the governor is concerned this would have an effect on how NY State might be able to collect state sales tax for other online retailers/merchants if you say that the transaction is actually happening where the server is hosted.Comment -

#77That's right, I forgot about the NY state constitution issue.
