    Is anyone else impressed
Is anybody else impressed there hasn't been more of a slowdown in payouts? Sure, yeah, a couple inconvenient max decreases, etc, but by and large nothing really to complain about.

I mean, this wasn't like the day after the super bowl. The books got hit with a totally unexpected, gigantic wave of payouts at the exact same time their deposits unexpectedly dropped to zero. For the A+ books, no prob, but I figured that'd spell trouble for a lot more mid to dicey level outfits than it has.

Heck, I received a payout last week from Oddsmaker (a TopBet clone, SBR rating of F), that I'd basically given up on since it's borderline defunct. And during the pandemic, go figure.

Not too many signs of even small books looking too bad so far.

I am sure no one with money tied up is happy about offshore withdraw limits, but that move appears to have done the trick in keeping them all solid and also keeping most staff paid still.

They are still getting all the square action betting on sims, in the casino, and on sports they know nothing about on juiced up lines. They don’t have to worry about sharps anymore. After the initial rush to withdraw the money they are probably doing better now than ever before. Lots of people are bored at home right now. I saw 2,000 people watching the bookmaker sims game last night. That means at least that many bets on the game. Don’t forget about the stimulus checks. Lots of these people never seen that much money and dreaming big and blowing it in online casinos. It’s probably great time for books right now.

Solid point on the stimulus checks. I was actually surprised there wasn't a thread up with directions for how pros who might've chosen the "off the grid" strategy RE: filing taxes the last two yrs could go about getting their checks.

Two of my friends are actually in that boat, so if nobody does one soon I may have to research and write one. Blech.

More than two. When you become a professional gambler it becomes tempting to just say, "why should I give the feds anything at all?" and just go off-grid.

How do they manage to do anything else in life? Unless you're gambling with cash in a casino, I can't see how you could sustain an off-grid lifestyle while also being a professional gambler. Certainly you'd need internet at the very least.
