    Frustrated by Skybook
I've been playing at Skybook for a few years, and I've always found them reasonable. Their withdrawal fees are a bit high, but some are better than others, and they are better than most other books in some ways.

However, now it seems to have grown from high to ridiculous. It used to be $100 for a $5000 Bank Wire or a free Book to Book transfer. But now they have disabled Book to Book transfers completely (at least for now), and the Bank Wires are available only for offshore or business accounts (effectively making them impossible for US citizens like myself). The only options are MoneyGram and Western Union, but those are maximum of $1000 and each take a fee of around $60. $60 for a $1000 withdrawal?? That just seems utterly ridiculous.

If anyone has any comments about this or suggestions about what to do, please do share them. I really do not want to pay $60 for a $1000 withdrawal.

Wish i could help. i have been making suggestions to them for over 2 years. they don't even want ewallet players. They used to be satisfied with an 8 second delay, but in the last year that has increased dramatically. they hate canadians. they really market to a very select group of people. A very strange business model for sure. Other than that--i have always liked them and they do pay.

i agree with Kat, i spoke with there manager on email and livechat 'Mike', he was very nice but didn't seem to care regarding any of my concerns. He just said we are just a recreational book. I inquired about the high cost of payouts, the low max of payouts. I also went back and told him the only reason i had money there was due to the 50% bonus he gave me after they started juicing the free half point lines on friday during the ncaa so that they no longer had any value whatsoever. I told him there was no reason for me to play there and that i would be leaving, he seemed fine with it....

        Very strange business model indeed....

The industry in general keeps getting less and less player friendly. That's just another indication.

I echo the OP's concerns. Skybook has been one of my fav outs for years, but withdrawals for US players are ridic. I requested a $5k wire three weeks ago, and Mike told me that only ** and ** are currently available. However, he thought that US wires to personal checking/savings accounts should be up again in a few weeks.

Still nothing, so I've since called and got another rep who said this is all the US government's fault. While the prick is partially correct, I told him that other top Books have found ways around this via checks and/or transfers.

Mudcat is dead on about the industry being player unfriendly. I guess I'll just wait this out a few more weeks and then do the ** thing several times at $60 per pop. ArunSH, I feel for you buddy--we're in the same boat.

I believe the Greek cancelled their transfer relationship, with Skybook.

It was probably always one way, Skybook to Greek. Wally probably got tired of cashing people's Skybook money out.

if that's the case, then why not establish transfer relationship w/ another book; matchbook seems to take on all comers, even to jazz or wsex might be a good idea (might even get 2 way action).

the fact that they don't have ANY transfer relationship anymore is worrying..

One would think that the Greek would welcome the incoming money, especially since they require a 4x roll on transfers.

But if you figure the players more likely to do B2B are sharp, Greek may not be making much on the proposition. Just an assumption on my part.

I do like Skybook as a place to lay down some small to mid size action. Never really had anything to complain about with them, and they do not get abusive on the players like Dimes and BetOnline.
