teaser or straight bet

I find myself in a battle daily on certain picks. Often ill see 2 teams i like at -7 or something like that. my question is should i just pick one of them on a straight bet, and hope they cover the spread, or should i tease it up and get the line at -2 for both of them. anybody no the math on whats the better play?

straight bets are also better

all the 2tt's i lose end up having one team cover the spread w/o the teaser pts and the other one losing SU when favored, etc.

i usually only tease teams im confident in (nba: spurs, cavs, lakers) down to a manageable margin (-3 or less)
