I delayed updating to Firefox 3 until Matchbook said they were ready. But with ff 3.5 and now 3.6 I am having a problem with MB.
I let them know and got no satisfaction. They didn't seem to think it was a serious problem and did not say they would even look into it and try to correct it. They would not let me talk to a tech person. It's true that it is not an extremely serious problem , but it is very annoying and it affects the speed at which I can do my thing.
I will describe what has changed for me on MB between firefox 2 and ff 3. And may I ask any of you who use MB with firefox 3 to please see if you have the same problem and let me know in this thread.
As Monk says, here's what happened.
First of all the compact view check box no longer works properly. All it does is toggle between showing the event menu and hiding it. When compact view is unchecked it just moves every thing to the right ... it does not show the 3rd column of offers as it did in firefox 2. This is not what bothers me , though, because I always have it checked. However, if this worked as it should, the following might not be so bad for me.
Next is what really bothers me a lot. To me , it is a big difference from the way things worked in ff2.
Look at the little < > at the right of the 2 columns of offers (compact view). To see the third column you click the > symbol. To go back to the first 2 columns you click <. What happens now, and not in ff2, is that when I have a page of many games up and I am not at the top of the list, clicking > makes the page shoot to the top. So to see the third column that I clicked > to see, I have to scroll back down to find the game I am looking at. When you are in a hurry , this is terrible. Then when I click < to go back to the first 2 columns, same problem -- shoot up to top, scroll down to find your game.
They told me the only solution is to have only that game showing - then it is already at the top. This helps, but then it requires clicking between all games and just one game or switching among more tabs than I want to have open. Not good. It really slows me down .
Maybe it's only my computer and/or my firefox settings. So I would appreciate it if some of you could test this and report back here. And please, only Firefox 3. Go to a game down the page and see if you get shot up to the top when you click > .
What's frustrating is that it works fine in firefox2 - I tested this today at a library with firefox 2.
Thank you.
