Question about Freeplays?

So i'm only a few plays away from geting my freeplay. What i'm wondering, is lets say i put $20 of my freeplay, to win $15.

Lets say i do win, now do i get both the $20 freeplay and the $15? or do i only get the winning $15??? i've heard both and i'm just looking for some clarification.

Actually most books consider freeplays and bonuses as the same thing unless it's a cash bonus that's not saved apart from your real money balance, this cash bonus comes into your real money balance.
