You are taking a narrow view IMO.

Before this thread, we couldn't be sure that something was going to happen to something at some time. But now we are somewhat certain it might.

From that, the sharp punter can surmise that if the thing that might happen is good, then that will be good.

If however the thing that might happen is bad then that won't be good at all.

Personally I plan to be happy if it is good but unhappy if it is not.

Without this thread, could I have done that?
