I've sent transfers before via ** to lima,peru in local currency and now I sent it costa rica (because local currency was the only option available) and they didn't want to fuking pick it up!

Customer service was terrible, they didn't even warn me that the only currency they accept is USD.

Now I'd have to get a refund from western union and pay for all the taxes for the voided transfer.

If they gave you a Costa Rica receiver, they should be able to pick it up and process it regardless of currency. You may have been speaking to someone who just doesn't know what they're doing.

Everyone in the industry knows that **'s to CR arrive in colon. US $$ is not an option. Someone at CRIS should know how to deal with it.

If you can't get someone who knows what they're doing, just give the Customer Service rep the amount you sent in USD. If you sent USD, just tell them that amount, or if you used some other currency, ask ** for their current conversion rate.

Don't even get into discussions of currency with the cs rep. Just act like everything is happening in USD like they want.

I have done that at inept books and it seems to force things through.
