    Brazil tonight
After going 5-0 last night in Brazil's B league (picks posted on zizoudane10's thread well before the games started), i decided to share my pick's for tonights games. Beware that Brazil is a particularly crazy league where anything can happen and seems much more unpredictable than other leagues.

    For tonight:

Flamengo vs Ponte Preta - over 2.5. Ponte preta's last 8 away games have had 3 goals or more. Flamengo's home games can go either way, with a few matches ending with 1 or 2 goals but plenty having 4 or more. Going with the over based on Ponte Preta's recent form

Nautico pk vs Vasco da Gama - Nautico sits at the middle of the table (10th) but they are actually 5th best at home. Vasco has a decent record away but they have lost their last 3 away and have only one win in their last 6 games overall.

Bahia vs Atletico Mineiro = Atl Min pk/-0.5 and over 2 and 2.5 goals - Atletico leads the league and has been playing great. They have the second best record away from home and face Bahia, who has the third worst record at home and only 2 wins in 11 home games. By getting the pk and -0.5, i see it as getting almost a freeroll, in that we're either getting a half loss if they tie or a full win if Atletico wins, very unlikely to see a win for Bahia there. As for the over, it's one of the more "iffy" bets of the day. Both teams have had few goals overall but Atletico has seen an uplift of goals when facing the weaker teams on the road (they have a 4-1 win at Recife and a 4-3 win at Figueirense). As for Bahia, the best they faced at home was Vasco da Gama (4th in the league) in a game that ended 2-1.

    continuing tonight's picks:

Gremio to win vs Atletico Goianense - Not getting jaw dropping odds, but even at 1.402 there's value in getting Gremio here. They have the second best record at home with 8 wins in 10 games versus a team that sits in 18th in a 20 league team, having won no games on the road. Gremio actually has a good record of beating the bottom teams by more than one goal (4-0 vs 20th placed Figueirense, and 3-1 against both Bahia and Recife (15th and 17th), so if you're willing to risk, getting the -1 or even -1.5 could be a good deal.)

Sao Paulo vs Internacional +0.5 and +1 - Sao Paulo has a pretty good record at home (3rd overall), so going with Internacional here could seem unnatural at first. However, Sao Paulo has strugled when facing the better teams even at home (they do have one win against 1st placed Atletico mineiro by 1-0 but also have two losses against Gremio and Vasco da Gama (3rd and 4th). As for Internacional, they only have one loss by more than one goal away from home and only 3 losses in 10 away games.

Two other games that i'll do write ups in a couple of hours

Isn't Internacional missing some important key players? I've read Damiano, Forlan and Guinazu are in Brazilian Selection while Juan, Kleber, Ygor are injured and Fred Suspended.

        Sao Paulo
        Suspended: Lucas
        Doubtful: None
        Injured/unavailable: Canete (fit), Fabricio (knee)
        Internacional
        Suspended: Guinazu, Fred, Leandro Damiao
        Doubtful: None
Injured/unavailable: Otavio (broken leg), Datolo (groin)

Sao Paulo are getting Luis Fabiano back he didn't play in their 1-0 loss against Bahia where their attack was pathetic, but without Lucas they are probably going to have the same problem they had against Bahia, and the ball won’t even get to Luis Fabiano.

Internacional PK +240 is looking pretty nice if you ask me.

Yeah, internacional missing some players but sao paulo missing Lucas as well, probably their best player. Also, D'alessandro only recently coming back is big for Inter. One more thing, luis fabiano, sao paulo's key striker is back but has a terrible record vs inter - only one goal and one win in 6 matches against internacional, both coming in 2001.

            Last picks for today:

Cruzeiro vs Botafogo +0.5 and +1 / over 2.5 - Two teams on the top half of the league table. Cruzeiro is 6th overall but only 9th on the home record, having 5 wins in 11 matches, Botafogo is actually performing better away than at home, having the 6th best record playing away. Cruzeiro only has one win at home by more than 1 goal (against 10th Nautico) and actually has not beaten a single team above Nautico (two ties and two losses in matches against teams ranked on the top half of the table). Botafogo has only one loss away from home by more than 1 goal, so for me this is a similar scenario than before - we are very likely to either get a full win or only a half loss, as a multiple goal loss seems unlikely when interpreting the stats.
As for the over, both teams have feature multiple goals in their games - 55% of Cruzeiro's home games have had 3 or more goals and 70% of Botafogo's away games have also featured over 2.5 goals

Last but not least Figueirense vs Corinthias. A couple of ways to go on this one: the way i see it, figueirense highly unlikely to get a win here, even at home - they sit at the bottom of the league and also have the worst overall record, with only two wins in 11 matches. Corinthias are 9th overall and 10th away from home, having only lost 1 game in their last seven away matches. They do have 4 draws in that span, so you have to decide if you want to gamble and take the Corinthias at pk, eat the chalk and get the +0.5 or something in between (pk/+0.5)

Those are my picks, tail or fade at your own peril, hopefully a profitable day will be in the cards for the brazilian league tonight.

            Best of luck

Seedorf is killing it for Botafogo! What a game, 2 goals and an assist.

Mixed results on your plays last night, I think about even?

Yeah about even for last night, still backing all my picks from last night except for the over on the atletico mineieo game, didnt feel too strongly before and was proved wrong. Corinthias should not have lost that game. Oh well...

ColdBeerHere, ill check tonights games in a couple of hours and post something if i find any value. Cheers

Yup, i only took the over on that game, which obviously did not cash, but feel it was a positive value play considering the stats and circumstances
