this team is just doing enough to survive but not enough to really challenge the top, its almost as if they are just happy to be around 10th in the league and its mission accomplished. there was an article late last year about them not investing money into the team much and they will just sell whoever has any decent value.Comment -
sorry that's not correct.
the owner, dietmar hopp, was investing a lot of money into the club to bring them from the 3rd to the 1st league.
now slowly but steady he wants the club to stand on it's own feet, so he doesn't have to put more money in.

ur right they spent a lot to bring it up to the bundesliga but after they arrived and survived one year in the league the cash investment for players stopped.
this is from that german writer on soccernet, and his point is valid as u saw how many of their top stars were sold the last two seasons w/o equal return in transfer in.Comment -
well they tried to get equal transfers but the all were a big blunder like ryan babel or braafheid.
so they just bought the wrong players.. correct me if i'm wrong but their old manager ernst tanner signed all these bad players. luckily they fired him.
they aren't the only team in the bundesliga that did so bad investments. hoffenheim, (especially) hamburg and maybe even bremen will face a very hard season.
