FIFA has England ranked #6 in the world and Italy ranked #12 in the world

Granted these rankings are a few weeks old but after researching this match I was convinced Italy was better. Can anyone explain the rankings?

I wouldn't read into much into it. For eg, Netherlands couldn't beat 2 teams(Portugal and Denmark) lower than them. Croatia and Spain didn't beat lower ranked Italy. And Greece lost to Czech Republic.

england have always been high even though they never do anything, and no one really pays attention to fifa ranking so i wouldnt read much into it.
