The odds for each selection are posted beside the bet in fractional odds format.

If you look at the bet again you will see it is "Houston Dynamo Draw no bet". The bet is pushed and effectively becomes a double.

Is it Newell ML and draw? or Newell -1/2 and draw ?
They are both the same bets.
Bookmakers offer a market called 'Double Chance' so that you don't have to place two separate bets.

We have gone 2 for 2 and it looks to be a good opening weekend for the log.

      Argentina - Newells Old Boys v Lanus - Newells Old Boys & Draw - 2/9 (0-0)
      Japan - Kashiwa Reysol v Kashima Antlers - over 1.5 goals - 2/9 (1-1)
      Japan - Nagoya Grampus Eight v Jubilo Iwata - over 1.5 goals - 1/5 (2-0)

      Balance: $1,876

To put the cherry on top and double the bankroll in the opening weekend we will be going back to the USA and once again to the old familiar favourites San Jose who will be trying to avoid a backlash from Salt Lake who lost 3-2 during the week to a resurgent LA Galaxy.

USA - Real Salt Lake v San Jose Earthquakes - over 1.5 goals - 1/4

      Bet: $938
      Bookmaker: Bet365

So two losing bets in a row will bust you. 6 weeks is a long ways away.

I'm staking 50% of the current balance. The stake will increase or decrease based on the previous result.

Advantage id love to eventually pick more mathematics stuff from your brain however in this situation your setting yourself up for trouble. yes if you lose a play now for $1000 you still will have your initial but the way your betting is that after a win you are betting to lose more and then if you lose i assume your betting to win less.
If i have $120 and bet %50 all the time at even odds and alternate WLWLWL look what happens

                W $60*2.00 = $120 + $60 = $180 BR
                L $90*2.00 = $0 + $90 = $90 BR
                W $45+2.00 = $90 + $45 = $135 BR
                L $67.50*2.00 = $0 + $67.50 = $67.50

Ive now gone 2-2 but almost lost half my money.....

most betting professionals suggest to bet 1% of your starting bankroll on plays with a few 2-3% plays so if your at $2,000 now you would bet $20 a unit, So $20 a game with some $40-$60 plays. I understand your trying to go for a big goal here so maybe try to bet 5%-10% on dogs and 20-25% max on huge favourites.

Once you gain some money then raise your unit size but do it over a month to limit variance stealing your roll

I'm aware of that. I have set aside $1,000 from my main betting bank to do this exercise. My maximum bet with my main betting bank is 2% which is conservative as I have built up my betting bank over a number of years. For someone that is starting off and using a small amount that can be replaced relatively easily a much more aggressive staking strategy can be used. It is very much a case of each to their own.

For anyone who is interested in learning more about staking strategies the Kelly Criterion is a good place to start. I recommend using a 1/4 Kelly stake.

so 2 for 3 this week with ireland to come? Both J League and MLS matches crushed the 1.5+ goals. Some books only allow 2.5+ goals for parlay, were the 2.5+ goals not good value? Both leagues commonly score 3 goals, and it could help you double your money faster. Either way you're not losing so keep it up!

With this betting approach and bet size -- there's not a lot of room for error. I'm assuming he's going for quality and not quantity.
