Officially, these guys behind the post are "assistants" not "refs", and "assistants" as those on the side lines are...assisting, cannot make an official decision. They can suggest to the main ref the foul play, but the final decisions is up to the guy on the pitch with the whistle.

i don't care if it is uefa or fifa,they are called refs or assistants ...why are they ? what is their job ? Their job is to see if the ball crosses the line or not , if it is handball or not ... they were both handballs and they didn't suggest to the main ref

It's a disgrace.. Why put them there if they have nothing to do or say? Twice have they failed with rewarding clear penalties to Holland and Greece.

You might not care, but that's the reality and that's how rules are written. They must go with UEFA guidelines. In Greece instance, the main ref saw clearly the handball without the help of the assistant, but he didn't call it. He gave the signal to carry on the game. In Holland game, neither one of them saw it since there was no call.
