All of those are roadies. I've learned the hard way to stay away from teams playing on the road in soccer. Even the best teams struggle on the road.

you're right ,
i accidentally thought these 3 underdogs are playing at home ,
that's why these lines looked so good lol
After considering the games again ,
i think that arsenal -110 is a great bet after all.
Bayern München -116 doesn't look bad either .
Athletico Madrid should have a tough time against eindhoven ,
maxi rodriguez and pernia are out and the spanish
won't be that good away from their home stadium.
Furthermore , Werder Bremen -2 is another bet i'd like to hit .
Werder won their first game on saturday in german bundesliga defeating Energie cottbus after a great finish with 3-0.
That game should have been a nice exercise for tomorrow's game ,
because i expect famagusta to play very defensive , just like cottbus did.
So they gonna need some patience, but i think a 3 goal win is really not that much against a famagusta team ,
that conceded 59 goals in 13 matches on the road
in international cup games.

Dont forget that at this stage many dont play with there superstars ...
the 1st round of champions league is very difficult to bet.
i think that the best team like Chelsea, Inter, Barcellona, Liverpool etc will find some difficulties to win but in the end could succeed but not with more than 1 goal.
I like this spread:
Bordeaux +1.50
Cluj Ecomax +1.50
Marseille +0.25
Sporting Lisbona +1.25
I can easy wrong but this is my opinion

Draws cash most often in such situations. When a good team is on the road playing against a team slightly inferior to them.

Don't like Liverpool for the win tonight. They will be happy with a draw. Fingers crossed they win but I expect a letdown after the win over Manchester and question marks over how fit Torres and Gerrard may be.

Pavyracer,
Why do you think CFR Cluj will cover?

I believe Totti and Perotta are missing tonight. Also Roma didn't cover -1.5 on any of their Champ League games last year. Cluj will be playing for 0-0 draw and won't open up even if they are down 1-0.

Goodness me! You're damn right. Totti isn't starting. I played Roma -1.5 thinking Totti and Aquilani would start. Roma often scores 2 goals at home in games like this. My calculation was that CFR will be playing for a draw and may not score. So if Roma scores on either side of the break, then Roma covers the spread. We'll see. I think Baptista will score.

Why is this called the Champions League? Sorry but I'm alittle clueless when it comes to soccer and why do all the games start at the exact same time? They should do what the NFL does and spread it out.

Because its all the champions of the European leagues (there are 53 countries in Europe and they all have leagues except Montenegro I think). The smaller leagues only have one team (the champion), but the bigger leagues get more than one team. As for all starting at the same time, I'm not sure.

The matches are played on weekdays so they have to be night games. All games start on same time so that the TV rights to broadcast games are the same since they are bid to various countries with different viewing volume. A TV station from Germany or Italy will pay much more money to get the rights from a station from Finland or Hungary where the viewership is less.

oh ok. So I guess theres over 60 teams competing in this thing if some countries have more than 1 team. England, Spain, Portugal, Germany and Italy I 'm sure have more than 1 team.

England, Spain, and Italy have four teams since they are the top three rated leagues.
You can see the full list below and see the number of spots under "CL spots".
And there were 76 teams in the competition this year.

what do you all think about today's games ,
i'm probably just going with manu -1 -110
2-2 yesterday', should have played my early leans,
werder was just ridicolous yesterday.
You should bet on every english team and fade the german teams during champions league season.
I'm pretty sure you're going to make some cash that way lol
