Thoughts on the first CL game of the day? O/U 2 and + odds for both teams screams a 0-0 or 1-1 draw, but can anyone see Zenit at +140 winning at home?

Zenit have probably the most loyal and noisy fans in Russia, there's no question about good support. It's -14C in St. Petersburg today. Under is more likely, yes, but at 2.48 I'm going with the over. this is gona be a tough road game for each team in this series. long ass way from portugal to russia, also vastly different weather. benfica has more talent IMO, i think they try and get outta this game and take their chance at home.Comment -

Tough game! Missing players for Zenit Malafeev the keeper, Danny striker and defender Criscito. Benfica may be afeccted by the weather and also the pitch I think will be in bad conditions! Maybe the draw and both team will be happy!Comment -
The starting lineups are announced, I'll say a few words about Zenit
Goalkeeper: Yuri Zhevnov, he's a reserve goalkeeper, but he's still one of the best in RPL, I wouldn't count him as a weakness.
Defenders: there are four of them, but only one (Anyukov) is a winger (he will play on the right flank). It means that left side will be covered by either Lomberts or Gubocan, both of them are CBs.
Midfield: no problems for Zenit here, I really want to see Denisov and Shirokov in action again, they are very good.
Offense: Kerzhakov didn't play football for almost a year because of an injury, there's no way to tell about his current form. And Kanunnikov is a young russian talent, he had a very solid season in Tomsk last year and now he's back in Zenit, I'd keep an eye on him.
Not enough attacking power without Danny and Lazovich, but Denisov and Shirokov will definitely support Kerzhakov and Kanunnikov. Today's squad is the best under the circumstances.
I guess you never had a chance to see Zenit in action. Their defense always was a joke, but they are very passionate about scoring goals. I can't predict the future, but I'd never put my money on a game's 'under' with Zenit in it. why would zenit be happy with a draw at home? heck , even if they were missing all their players, and they put their coach to play, they would attack to win the game. There is no reason to play under this game, simply odds really suck here about -160 on under what a joke ... not worth a risk
