Liverpool-Tottenham
Pick: Both teams to score @1.72
Bookie: Bet365
So far the Liverpool is in good form, they played well in latest maches. They manage a draw against City last week, so they are in the Carling Cup final, and then they kick out Manchester United from the FA Cup with a late winning goal. In the PL, in the last round they beat Wolves away from home, the result was 3-0. These results are very impressive, plus they got Suarez back in the lineup, as well as Gerrard, who gonna start after Dalglish rested him.
The Spurs played well too in the last weeks, unfortunately they have been beaten by the City, but they win against Watford in the FA Cup, and manage an easy win against Wigan at home. Tottenham has a lot of injured players. Huddlestone and Gallas wont play for sure, but Adebayor, van der Vaart, Defoe, Lennon, Walker and King are doubtful, so maybe the new signing, Saha will play as striker.
In this season, the main part of the biggest matchups gone over, and both to score so far, here are some examples with these teams involved:
Man. City-Tottenham 3-2
Tottenham-Chelsea 2-2
Tottenham-Arsenal 2-1
Tottenham-Manchester City 1-5
Man. United-Tottenham 3-0
Liverpool-Man. Utd. 2-1
Liverpool-Man.City 2-2
Man City-Liverpool 0-1
Man. City-Liverpool 3-0
Chelsea-Liverpool 0-2
Liverpool-Man. City 1-1
Chelsea-Liverpool 1-2
Liverpool-Man. Utd. 1-1
Arsenal-Liverpool 0-2
Tottenham-Liverpool 4-0
From this sample, I see that Pool everytime receive a goal at home from their opponents, and Tottenham has only one match, when not scored both teams at least one goal. As I mentioned before, Liverpool is very strong at home, they scored 14 against 8. Tottenham usually score away from home (20 goal), but they concede (15) as well.
The public backs the Liverpool, because they are in a good form, but in the last years Liverpool is not a consistent team, they often surprise the public. For me, the only playable pick for this match is the both to score option, because I am sure that Liverpool will score at home, because of the weak Spurs defense, and I dont think that every doubtful player miss this important match from Tottenham squad (if they do, there is Louis Saha, who is a good striker as well.), so they will have good fire power too, wich should be too much for the Reds.
Maybe the draw, or the +0.5 AHC would be a considerable bet, but I will stay on this side.
GL All.
