Anderlecht vs. Bayern Munich - Who Would Win?
I was curious to get experts who know a lot about famous international clubs and the sport itself on SBR and see what your opinions were if these two teams were to face off today (both squads fully healthy) and played each other on a neutral turf.

How would you cap the game? What type of game could we expect? High or low scoring?

Both squads seems really strong to me and could give any other team outside of Spain or England a run for their money. Who is the better team between them?

Bayern Munich is the better team by a mile. These two teams met in the knockout phase of the 2007/08 Uefa Cup. In round of 16, Bayern cruised to a 5-0 win in the first leg and I cant imagine they cared much in the second leg where they lost 2-1. Would expect BM to win both legs if they met today.

Napoli, Manchester City and Villareal are better teams then Anderlecht and Bayern have all beaten them during this years Champions League. Right now BM are the most in form team in Europe and looking like a real dark horse to win CL, even tho I don´t think their defense will cope against the offense of Barca, Real Madrid, United. Van Buyten is too slow and Badstuber too inexperienced.

Anderlecht is not on their level (not even a CL team this year).

Anderlecht - Bayern would be easy for Bayern, those teams are from different leagues.

Right now Bayern will beat Man. United, maybe a 60% change fro Bayern.

Bayern playing much better, and Man U has some problems with the ay the built the team for this year IMO!

That is a more interesting comparison, England and Germany have great Rivalry. They met in the quarter final of Champions League 2009/10, it ended 4-4 over two legs but Bayern ultimately advanced because of more goals scored in their away game.

Right now Barcelona, Real Madrid, United and Bayern seems to be in the driver seat for the four semifinal spots in CL. Its still to early to say anything tho, there always seems to be one team who surprise us. Last season it was Schalke 04 for example.

If these two teams would meet today I would give Bayern the slight nodd due to their amazing form. United have a younger team this year and should therefore go through some rare patches where they lose points. Normally they still win or draw even tho their form isnt good but their squad is not as experienced now. And Ferdinand plays like crap.

Anderlecht? Sorry, but they are not even close on the same level.

United? Not sure. With Schweinsteiger out, we will have a tough time beating United.

With him and maybe Robben, we'll definitely beat United and I'd even dare to say Barca. But that's just right now. Still, I hope they will be in that same form beginning 2012 - or even better.

Sacha Kljestan would score a hat trick, 3-0 Anderlecht easy

Bayern something like 7-2 on aggregate.. but no shame, Bayern probably the 3rd best team in the world right now.

Bayern is easily better than Anderlecht and is on par with the top teams in the world: ManU, Chelsea, Arsenal, Inter, AC Milan, Madrid, Barcelona. Both now and historically. In fact Bayern is 4th in UEFA coefficient right now, behind only ManU, Barça, and Chelsea.

If Bayern and ManU are healthy, I'd say Bayern takes it. But Bayern has many many injury-prone players, that odds are if they met, ManU would be healthier and probably win. A full Bayern squad is as good as any team in the world and most international teams.

Also, van Buyten isn't a starter anymore. The defense is Rafinha, Boateng, Badstuber, and Lahm. They are a great defense, but do not have the speed of a Real or Barça. They are very smart and athletic players, and I agree Badstuber is the weak point. Also Schwein, Tymo, and Gustavo are good holding mildfielders and will help out.

Bayern is a dangerous dangerous squad. They can beat anyone out there. But those two Spanish squads? I say they'd beat Bayern 60-70% of the time.

How come Brazil doesn't have a solid local squad in their league the likes of Man U, Barca or Bayern?

Doesn't their country produce some of the most talented players in the world?

that's the key word: talents, not finished players. and money/popularity.
same counts for example holland. they produce talents en masse, but they usually end up in big leagues.
as for money, playing in south america is not as lucrative as in europe. it's everyone's goal to play in big european leagues.

just think about it, when you play basketball. your goal is no doubt the NBA, especially when you are coming from another country (or continent).
