#7110Some Serie B plays:
Reggina PK @ -170 at home to Bari...
A big "Tip of the Boot" Derby game tonight between two sides that I expect to be battling it out in bottom half of Serie B this season. Reggina will rely on their home form to keep them up, and will also be reliant on the experience and guile of David Di Michele who joined for second half of last season and scored 7 goals in 18 appearances and was one of the main reasons why Reggina managed to avoid relegation. Gianmario Comi was also an important part as he contributed 11 goals in 35 appearances, but he has moved on to Novara to replace Seferovic. This is a concern as his replacement will be Gerardi who scored 5 goals in 17 appearances last season, and perhaps isnt quite at the same level as Comi (which is why Gerardi struggled to get in to the side ahead of him after Di Michele joined). Finnish midfielder Hetemaj (29 apps) has returned to Albinoleffe, however they have made a potentially very shrewd signing in former Milan youngster Rodney Strasser who should be a solid replacement in midfield. They've also signed Uruguayan midfielder Caballer from Cerro who scored 7 goals in 29 appearances for them last season, and will add quality to the midfield alongside Barilla and Colucci who are decent players at this level. Key right-back Adejo (39 apps, 2 goals) who impressed me last season is still with the club which is good, but their regular keeper Baiocco (40 apps), and defenders Rizzato (36 apps, 1 goal), & Ely (27 apps, 1 goal) have departed which could be an issue.
Bari have had a more turbulent summer with their Coach Torrente leaving for ambitious Lega Pro side Cremonense, key striker Caputo (36 apps, 17 goals) being banned as part of the match-fixing scandal, and a number of key players from last season leaving including the central defense partnership of Polenta (36 apps, 1 goal), and Claiton (35 apps, 2 goals) which was perhaps one of the best in the league in second half of last season. Another big loss was key creative midfielder Nicola Bellomo (34 apps, 6 goals) who has left for Torino. New signing Marco Fossati isnt in the squad for tonight's game, along with striker Fedato who also misses out.
Reggina have played Bari 5 times at home and won 4, drawn 1, and only conceded 1 goal. Last season Reggina won 1-0 at home and away. Reggina are also celebrating their Centenary and are expecting a bigger crowd than usual so motivation to get off to a good start at home should be very high.
Palermo PK @ -188 away at Modena;
Modena have lost their key player from last season in Ardemagni who scored 23 goals in 39 appearances and rescued them on numerous occasions. GK Colombi (36 apps) left for rivals Padova, and two regular defenders from last season have departed in Perna (37 apps) who has retired, and Andelkovic (32 apps, 2 goals) going back to their upcoming opponents Palermo. Midfielders Osuji (32 apps), Lazarevic (34 apps, 5 goals), and Moretti (33 apps, 1 goal) have also all moved on.
With the squad Palermo have they should be the top contender for winning this league. They will have the best keeper in the league in Sorrentino, solid defenders at this level in Daprela who was a key defender for Brescia last season (38 apps, 4 goals), aforementioned Andelkovic, Munoz, Morganella, and Eros Pisano. In midfield they have likes of Bacinovic, Bolzoni, N'Goyi, Stevanovic, Di Gennaro, and in attack they have Abel Hernandez, Dybala, Troianello, and Kyle Lafferty so great depth in the squad compared to a side like Modena. With Gattuso in charge you have to imagine that complacency and lack of motivation/work-rate won't be a factor.Comment -

#7119Added:
Parlay (double): Stoke PK (-275), & Villarreal PK (-275)...
Adding more to Stoke PK whom I already have in 2 parlays. I just don't see them losing at home to this Palace side that were average at best on their travels in the Championship last season winning just 6 games away from home. Stoke meanwhile started last season with 10 home games without losing. They ended up losing 5 at home, but 3 of those came in the final few games of season when they completely fell apart and Tony Pulis got the chop. Also, 3 out of those 5 losses were to Chelsea, Man Utd, and Spurs so nothing to be ashamed about. They also only had 10 men for more than half the game against Spurs yet still managed to hold on until the 83rd min before Adebayor netted a winner.
Villarreal have always been tough to beat at the El Madrigal - even when they were relegated from La Primera season before last they still only lost 3 games at home. Last season in Segunda they only lost twice at home and one of those losses was to the eventual Champions Elche. Valladolid have been hit by some injuries this week - key player Ebert who scored 6 goals and contributed with 7 assists last season has picked up a hamstring injury in training and will miss this game and their home match against Getafe next weekend. Larsson will also miss out, as will Victor Perez who is still rehabbing injury. Also striker Javi Guerra has been feeling some discomfort in training and isnt a certainty to start tomorrow night.Comment -

#7120Sevilla PK @ -166 away at Levante...
Be shocked if Sevilla dont score at least a couple in this game. Marko Marin is looking very sharp so far and already proving to be a very shrewd signing, he was superb mid-week against Slask. And Diego Perotti is finally back from injury problems and offers an additional attacking threat now which they missed a lot last season. Combine them with likes of Bacca, Rakitic, Gameiro, Vitolo, Rabello, Sampairo, and Iborra (who was Levante's best player last season) and there is great potential for goals. Last season there was a massive reliance on Jesus Navas to create the chances, and for Negredo to finish them, and it became all too predictable at times. Of course losing those 2 is a big loss, however, it has allowed Sevilla to freshen things up and now have a team that has a number of decent players rather than just two go-to stars.
Another problem last season was their disciplinary record which along with Zaragoza and Espanyol was pretty bad and cost them in at least 2 or 3 games. Gary Medel who has left for Cardiff was a big part of the disciplinary issue as he picked up 8 yellows and 3 red cards (4 including Copa Del Rey). Against Valladolid Sevilla went 2 goals down then pulled one back and were dominating the second half and Medel went and got sent off so they had to play 35 mins with 10 men. The most significant sending off was against their rivals Betis when Sevilla went 3-0 up, then conceded twice and against Medel got sent off just before the hour mark, and Betis eventually managed to equalize in 89th minute to scrape a draw. If other players like Rakitic and Navarro can calm down a little and avoid getting reds than that could make a big difference to their season as well.
Sevilla were horrible away from home last season winning just 1 game so that doesnt bode well. They also had the game against Slask on Thursday where they had a tougher time than the score of 4-1 reflected so that may be an issue. Also defensively they looked very poor on Thursday, Fazio is not progressing and can be a liability with his stiff movement and lapses in concentration. But still, I expect Sevilla to get at least a draw out of this considering how weak Levante are in attack.Comment -
