There's no quotes in this article that state he said they could win the league. But Gerrard always talks crap in front of the camera, so I can believe him saying that....

If it's true, he's the captain, he's going to say things like this be it realistic or not. It most likely won't happen but it's doing no harm. Like Moyes said about Everton, "best position we can finish next season is 7th", that can't be good for the morale of his team.
