It depends. I could be watching the match and choosing my plays from what I see but now, when the BIG leagues like EPL / LA liga / Serie A / Bundesliga are enjoying the summer break, I'm forced to play the lower and less known tournaments and yes, some of them are strictly based on pure stats, intuition and whatnot. (like the last three plays e.g.)
Mostly I use my own knowledge, my archive, some statistics and news.

P.S. the Singapore play is a hit

just after 5 minutes.
