    Sagarin Ratings Vs MLS Spreads
Did you know that Jeff knows soccer..

Wonder if we can find an edge with his ratings vs the actual spread?
I will post the difference, and when there is a big difference I will highlight it in bold and keep track.

The Seattle/La game was about even as far as the line and spread..

Note: Home field avg that Sagarin uses is already thrown in to my numbers.

Will always use 5 dimes for spreads..

    Toronto(1.98) at Vancouver(1.57)...Spread Toronto pk/+.5 +100..Money line +261.
    Columbus(2.44) at DC(1.59)..Spread Columbus pk +121..
Seattle(2.17) at NY(2.86)..Spread Ny -.5,-1..seems about even eh?
    Philadelphia(1.63) at Houston(2.31) Houston -.5,-1...About right..
    Chicago(2.08) at Dallas(3.09) Dallas -.5 -139
    Portland(1.11) at Colorado(3.05) Colorado -.5,-1 -114Play of the night!!
    Kansas City(2.14) at Chivas(2.09)..Chivas pk,-0.5 -138..Even Steven..
Salt Lake(2.63) at San Jose(2.63) San jose pk +112..Right on the money.
    NE(1.67) at LA(3.1)..La -1,-1.5...Spot on..

So sagarin says play the rapids large and Columbus, dallas and Toronto small..

MLS changes dramatically every year don't know if following previous stats is a good idea. I could be wrong... Look at teams like TFC and New York, they are different teams than last year. A team like LA will probably have gelled very well by now and start covering their overrated spreads.

Good thread to monitor though, GL.

Yes, by all means dont follow this blindy, you might go broke..Maybe track only when their is a 0.75 or 1.0 and higher difference in spread vs rating..Ill track as best I can with my busy school schedule.

I'm interested to see how Toronto FC will do, Aron Winter in their new manager, he was schooled at Ajax, played their and managed the youth team and was assistant manager of the first team for a few years. Will be interesting to see if he bring the Dutch total football approach to Toronto. He has bought over his team from Ajax with him so it wouldn't be a surprise if we saw them trying to play the good stuff.

Teams in their first season tend not to do so well, fading Vancouver and Portland could be wise, Philladelphia was a great fade last season.
