Especially considering Rooney should have been suspended for this match after his blatant cheap shot elbow.

Bollocks. Clear penalty. Only thing he did wrong was not punishing Rooney (who shouldn't have been on the pitch today) and Nani for their constant diving.

Defensive approach failed, . Maybe they should play to win instead of playing not to lose. Throw fcuks like Fletcher, Carrick and O'Shea out.
Are you for real? If that was not going for the win then I don't know what is.

Seems you don't know then. I hope you know that a match is 90 minutes and not 20. Man Utd play defensive anti-football. You can't play dominant attacking football with Carrick, O'Shea, Fletcher, Vidic, Smalling in one team.

They went 4-4-2 away from home (usually Ferguson plays 4-5-1 in these games) in probably their toughest fixture of the season and didn't even change after being 1-0 up. They were playing very very well in the first half. Probably their best away performance of the season. Certainly the players you named are a bit shit on the ball but United certainly didn't play defensively. Keep in mind that Chelsea had the weekend off and were much fitter which was obvious in the 2nd half.
Even if they played defensively (which they didn't) - what would be wrong with that? A draw at the Bridge would have been a very good result.
Oh btw: Read the press today? Müller and Lahm critisizing van Gaal and saying they play too offensively at times

What would be wrong with a defensive approach ("Anti-football")? I don't like this kind of approach. Did it ever came up in your mind that this is a forum and people do not need to agree on which teams to like or dislike and the way of playing? Chelsea dominated almost 70 minutes in this game, a team which I don't really like to watch either, but what can you expect with Ancelotti and a midfield with Essien and Ramires and on the other side Carrick and Fletcher. This combined with a Man Utd's defense (Smalling, Vidic and O'Shea) who are just so weak on the ball makes it even more boring and anti-football.
And no this is not the only about this game, ive seen many anti-football matches of them.

atkinson's refereeing was complete s*** today, but that doesn't change the fact that manu's loss is heavily due to ferguson's tactical error. carrick and fletcher are both very much like a subpar version of Makelele (steal the ball from the other team, then a) pass it back, or b) pass it wide to the winger -> repeat this for 90 mins). and fergie tried to do this in the midfield against essien and ramires? there was no way manu was going to take control in the midfield...
