United come into this game off the back of a struggled 1-0 win over Crawley, lost at Wolves recently, have no Rio or Anderson who are important in good defensive performances. Marseille looked poor v Chelsea in the group stages but I dont know them well enough so will have to take it in play myself

Man Utd have only won 3 away games in the PL, and all three at poor oppositions. And they're travelling to Marseille, who have a very good team, plus some great fans.

I agree, specially if they score an away goal is a great result for them (I bet mourinho is more than happy with yesterdays result)

Why would anyone take the away team in the first leg to win unless they are superior in every way? This is Champions League, Marseille know if they lose tonight they might as well not go to England, it's over.

That's like saying, why would a team COMPETE unless they're superior in every way? This makes no sense. Competitors, especially professional competitors do exactly that... they compete. They want to win. NO ONE, regardless of the poor logic, goes into a game and says, I'll be happy not to win today.

CL is arguably more important than league championship. And you can't throw away opportunities so you can play at home...

I would agree with you if United were huge favorites, but the odds reflect your thinking and at 6/4 they're excellent value.

however in this case, for manchester united even loosing can be a good result (for example 2-3), that's why I didn't bet on man utd today...
