Zinedine Zidane has shown no remorse for his World Cup final headbutt on Marco Materazzi in 2006, insisting "I won't apologise".
The former France international claims apologising to the Inter defender would be conceding defeat to the Italians once again after they beat Les Bleus to lift the World Cup in Berlin.
"I was provoked. I am not proud of my reaction, but I won't apologise as I was provoked," Zidane told L'Equipe.
"It would mean turning my cheek for a second time."
"This was part of my career, my life and there are moments in life which are not always nice. I don't want to insist on this."
