One-week charity collection

Had a bunch of people ask to keep this going through Christmas - and I should be around enough to try and bump this once a day at least - so lets see how much we can collect and I will make another donation on December 23.

Donations go to Salvation Army, we just donated $360 after a month of work, lets see if we can collect enough for another $60-$90. If I remember right, its 242 points per $30. I am starting us off with 120 points already, so we are halfway to our first $30 - lets see how much we can collect right before the holidays!!!

I have said this before - if everyone who reads this just gives 1 days worth of their points, it won't hurt your SBR point bankroll much, but will be great for karma - and of course - all the people the Salvation Army helps!!!

Donations can be bought through the SBR store.

Something to keep in mind btw: donations are only 199 points for an SBR Pro. I you know one you can trust with the points you could let him purchase the donations and raise even more money with the same amount of points.

Sanka - thought about that too as it would increase the donations for sure - but I had a really hard time convincing the people who are donating their points that I wasn't gonna just go gamble with them - worried if I gave them to someone else and that happened - I would feel terrible!

Totally understand that.

I only have enough points for 2 donations at a time, but I could purchase the donations in advance and you could transfer the points afterwards. It would take a bit of time going back and forth before all the donations were made, but that way we'd only lose the rake on the transfer and get the donations 43 points cheaper each. Since you'd transfer to me after the purchase the points won't be at risk so to speak. Let me know if you like the idea.

Sounds like a great idea - no risk - only downside is that someone may need to follow the points if they question - but seems like a great idea!! Lets see how much more I can collect (like people to see the large amount of points - they seem to give more when they feel like "everyone" is doing it)

We are just shy of $390 right now - lets keep it going!! 2 days left!!! I am going to use an SBR Pro to donate so we get more bang for our buck!!

This has been amazing so far - we are going to make a donation tomorrow. On Dec 10 we donated $360, today we are already at another $450 right now. If we can somehow collect another 1,100 points in the next day and a half - we could, as a forum, donate $1,000 to a great charity right before the holidays.

If you know anyone who has a lot of points who may not have seen this thread, point it out to them. No one is forced to donate - donations are personal and many people give in many ways, but if you know someone who has a ton of points that wouldn't mind throwing a couple at a worth charity - point this thread out!! Lets see what we can do in the next 24 hours!!!
