Maradonna have been famous from 1986 ,Mundial Mexico,not only From Napoli.
Messi has to do much more things to reach Maradona.

Messi is still just a kid, but has been playing on what's probably the best team on the planet for years and has been their star as well. Not to mention that Barcelona plays in probably the most competitive championship too. He's still got a lot of seasons in front of him. At the age of 18 most kids in the States go to college and mature for four years and then maybe turn pro.

Maradona undoubtedly was very talented, but I can't even start to compare him with players like Pele or even Messi for that matter since the guy was on drugs most of the time. People should not compare a doped up player to a clean player ever.

Football is so much tougher and more professional these days. Back in Maradona's day he was playing against semi-pros and overweight players!

Maybe i'm just a cynical twat but i completely DESPISE the fact people try to compare teams and players from different eras, there is just no need at all.

Maradona was a genius of his time, Messi is a genius of HIS time and at the peak of his powers right now - why bother comparing?
